  1. Yep..... but the way Big D has gone on about the Qantas RR engine failure you would think it has never happened with American built engines...... Sadly it has and on more than one occasion where passengers have died as a result of a catastrophic failure. Luckily nobody died on the Qantas flight, but the way BigD has gone on about it you would think somebody had.
  2. Just been watching an Air Crash Investigation program about the Manchester Airport disaster....... A P&W engined Boeing 737 suffered a catastrophic engine failure resulting in the death of 53 passengers and 2 air-crew. Care to comment on that one Denny...... Since you have made such a big fuss over the RR Trent engine failure on an A380.
  3. England spat the dummy out big time!!!! It's a pity considering the amount of money the Thai's are putting into the English game.... Chang (Everton), King Power (Leicester), Singha (Chelsea)....
  4. Emirates have the custom.... that's why they need the A380, because it is more economical for them to use the A380 on routes where they were filling the 777's every day. Emirates is a forward thinking airline, with an expanding network, and they are a demonstration that a "Hub" network is workable. Incidentally, in addition to the 234 definite orders, several airlines have options on additional aircraft. So that 40% figure for Emirates will drop to 30% or below eventually.
  5. Boeing 7LATE7 orders gained over the last 2 years -63 Airbus A380 orders gained over the last 2 years +36 So which is the loser? And still no sign of the Nightmareliner resuming test-flights!!!
  6. And the longer the delay.... the higher the BEP will rise....
  7. You can't forecast what the future is for the A380....... especially with your track record on forecasts for the 7LATE7!
  8. Yes, they are displacing 777's..... Some routes/diagrams that were previously used 777's are now getting A380's, as it the easiest/cheapest option to increase capacity without having to add additional flights. Emirates is expanding it's network all the time, hence the extra 777's. The 777 was not built to be 10 across, but they build them that way if the customers order them...
  9. So why are airlines like Emirates displacing the 777 with the A380? Simple..... there is a need for a higher passenger capacity and cramming more seats into an already claustrophobic 777 is not an option. For me it is now possible to fly Manchester -Bangkok by A380 without getting crammed into a claustrophobic 3-4-3 seated 777, thank god!!!
  10. If it's a winner then why has the 7LATE7 lost more sales than it has gained over the last 2 years? And it will only reach break even point if they can actually deliver a plane that doesn't burst into flames at the hint of a short circuit!!!
  11. If you take the freighters out of the equation the number ordered is 33, of which 8 are biz jets - that is pitiful compared to the A380!!!
  12. And how many orders has the old dinosaur 747 picked up lately? Over the last 3 years they had 5 ordered by Korean and 3 for Business jets!!! The 747 is dying a slow and painful death!!!
  13. The A380 order total is currentlly 234 with the possibility of more to come. Considering the state of the global economy it has still manged to pick up orders. Yes, the 7LATE7 has been picking up orders...... and has also seen orders being canceled... Total orders for this year? -4 And with the current indeterminate delay it's probably a good bet that there will be more cancellations.
  14. Looking at those photos they can't even get that right!!
  15. Dodgy...... downright dangerous more like!!!! It wouldn't take much work to fit junction boxes.... but no,.... they've used lumps of terminal block on mains cables!!!...
  16. GoogleDenny spends all day looking for anti-Airbus propoganda...... and even resorts to digging up old news. And then when he posts it he struggles with using the "quote" function!!! This year the 7LATE7 has had 36 orders .... and 40 cancellations..... but how many more will cancel after the latest delay???
  17. Well, that is a very poor translation!!! It seems as though the fire is being blamed on a foreign object being left in the panel. The major problem is that the vital systems failed as a result of the fire. The fire would have been caused by over-heating due to over-currents caused by a short circuit. Circuit protection should have prevented this from occurring, but it obviously didn't. The question is though, was it by design or by construction? It is obvious they need to investigate why the circuit protection failed so disastrously and implement design changes to prevent a re-oc
  18. 3 tests remaining and England only need one more victory to retain the Ashes..... What a sweet victory that one will be!!!
  19. I heard it was somebody called Denny who was the sponsor...
  20. C'mon Engerland!!!!! Won by an innings and 71 runs!!!!
  21. Oh dear.... it's not looking good.... 295 for 9!!!
  22. The electrical fire was nothing to do with European suppliers!!! The current delay can't be blamed on anyone else but Boeing and their engineers!!!
