The 2 777's with the engine failures are only 2 and 4 years old and were bought new, so have hardly suffered years of neglect.

I think I would chose the opinion of an experienced pilot over that of a retired postman with regards to the safety of a plane.

Yet no comment from you on the fact a highly experienced Qantas pilot feels the A380 is a safer plane than Boeings in that situation.... And still no comment on the 777/GE90 engine failures!!!

Here is a quote from one of the Quantas pilots on flight QF32 The full interview is here. Despite the damage they were still able to land safely.... And reading through the article the pilots biggest concerns happened after the aircraft landed, when they came to evacuate the passengers..... Fuel was leaking and one of the engines wouldn't shut down. Also it is interesting to note the pilots opinion of Boeings if one of them was in the same situation..... and that is a pilot with several years experience of flying Boeing aircraft.

Notice how BigD keeps going on about the A380 engine failure, but hasn't made a single comment about these 2 Boeing 777 GE90 engine failures!!! His xenophobia strikes again!!!

As each day passes the delay get longer and the cost to Boeing increases and so the profit drops and the break even point gets higher.

Oh dear..... Imagine the lawsuits that could happen as a result of one of those 737NG suffering a catastrophic cabin failure at altitude due to incorrectly manufactured parts, which it appears the FAA have basically given the all clear for. Ticking timebombs...... Or maybe they are in cahoots with the NTSB as well as the FAA and they'd pin it down to a pilot error or maintenance failure.

An accident....... not quite, there have been two accidents where people have died when a P&W engine exploded... Manchester Airport didaster in 85 and a Delta MD88 in 96 at Pensacola, Florida. It is only one route, and at one airport that it is currently affecting, and that is because it is limited to using a certain runway at LAX.... funny how the Boeing fan-boys fail to mention that...

Have you forgotten about the 7LATE7 wing fixings fiasco? OR the P&W engines that have killed people....

Oh dear..... don't know too much about aviation do you..... The 7LATE7 and the A380 serve are aimed at different market segments.... And Boeing's 7LATE7 net orders over the last 2 years has been -63, whereas the A380 has gained orders.... Perhaps the airlines do know something....

Why is that??? The "advanced" 7LATE7 is taking so long that it will be out of date by the time it enters service....... providing the airlines haven't cancelled their orders by then.... 3 years later....... on time??? Looks like Boeing jumped the gun with the 7LATE7 production line....... and will have to pay the price with retro-fitting design modifications...... The 7LATE7 is really living up to it's Nightmareliner name.

Airbus would have made the 20, no ploplem.... Lufthansa's 5th is sitting waiting for delivery but Lufthansa won't take it until January as the finance hasn't yet been sorted. The 19th delivery should be taking place on the 21st.
