Hi,

Could anyone tell me how all this construction work on Soi 13 affects the INN House? I was hoping it wouldn't be as much affected, as it is located closer to Beach Road. I was hoping to stay there in November without any of the noise.

Thanks for any replies.

i stayed at the dynesty and it sucked, there moving scaffleing and droping forms from 2-3 floors with loud bangs and hammers.

done know how much longer though, but doubt if they will be done by november.

should be as bad if you hve a room on the north side but hanna and the one accross the street are both doing remodles and construction.

i moved over to Lek, been ok there but i'm on the north side

Stayed at the Inn House in September - the first room I was given faced the construction and was extremely noisy. Went to the front desk and was given a room on the other side of the hotel and it was acceptable, much quieter with only the occasional loud bang during the day and early in the morning.

Switched to Sandy Springs a few days later as rooms became available - quieter there and slightly larger rooms and bed (if interested book early - we found they had no rooms available in mid September when we arrived - I never would have guessed)

drpaul and rb,

Thank you for the useful information. There is no way I would want to put up with any construction noise. Especially in the morning, when I want to spend some quality time with the hired help. I never get out of bed before 1 PM and they can shove the jackhammers up their arse.

I think I will be happy down in Soi 2 this time around and might try the INN House at a later trip, when things have quitened down. They advertise some very attractive monthly rates on their website.

Cheers

Gonzo

Provided the doc's clearance comes thru, I'll be arriving next Friday and am booked in to the Inn House for 10 days. Being the world's lightest sleeper, the posts about noise considerably alarm me. Could someone give me a real, very up-to-date assessment, please. Do I need to rethink my accommodation plans PDQ?

Well here's the answer to my own question.

Yes, there is still a lot of noise in certain parts of Soi 13. I had room 602 and had to be moved to get away from the noise. My new room does not have a sea view but is very quiet (apart from the noise from the generator at AA Residence).

Would recommend staying at Inn House (good rate - negotiated 850 Bt per night for 10 day stay but no breakfast, very clean and modern, friendly staff) but be careful if you have a low numbered room (1,2,3 or 4 on each floor) and are a light sleeper.

Still a lot of dust and noise in the immediate area of the Whitehouse Conditel building site this am 2 November.

They were dropping shit off the third floor into a truck below that made a nice resounding BANG! as I walked by on the way to breakfast:

You could tell that guy in the truck had some faith. Wasn't even looking half the time as the bags of debris and chunks of concrete were landing just a few feet away.

I`m staying in the sandy spring January, please is that far from the noise and is it affected?

Mate it's a fair distance from the Sandy Spring, so should be no problem as far as noise goes.

Bigmike.

pattaya mad,

By January they should be doing mostly interior work on the new condo. There has been talk about another hotel being built next to the AA Residence and if they are doing pile driving, it will be very noisey.

I'm staying in the Sandy Spring right now and there is no noise problem. There's a few guys hammering nails on some minor construction at the Haven and nothing happening on the site next to Ma Maison. Even the Condotel is at the brick laying stage and maybe a start on finishing. So there is no noise problem.

The whole SOI 13 is a construction pit. There is almost nowhere you can get away from the noise. The Condotel next to Dynasty, jackhammering at Ma Maison. Even the Haven is pounding away. Hopefully the bulk of it will be done by next March. Be very careful walking by the Dynasty. I saw all kinds a debris raining down on the Soi during the contruction. Give it a wide berth coming down the Soi.

Any talk of when this new hotel is likely to be started? :party
