The buffet is OK though!

 

#2 for me is the Penthouse and all its roaches. I saw a TG with a towel on, in the hallway screaming in Thai; nuu yai, nuu yai ahhhh!!! (big rat, big rat!). It came up out of the toilet when she was going to take a shower.

those roaches in pattaya arent roaches like we have in the states, there bigger 5-10 times in size .i saw one at a bar while i was paying a barfine it freaked me out because all of a sudden i saw this huge roach scurry across the floor and I started yelling what the fuck is that holy fucking shit did you see that thing and cuss words the girls thought ive gone crazy .I explained to them what i saw and they all got a good laugh . insects just freak me out

apex definietely a bad place withall there dodgy staff and bed bugs . however the buffet is good , but if you that kind of buffet you can get it at lek hotel , anybody ever stay at the lek hotel? is it anygood ? or do we all just eat there?

the lek is a great hotel with a great pool in a great area with great prices on a great soi in a great town yes, youve got it i think its good

To be honest ive been in pattaya only once but i fell in to the lek more by accident than design and found it to be a good hotel that caters to single guys , but on a down note I who am a fussy eater spent most time eating in the sportsmans bar also in soi13as i dont like the buffet in lek

I'm trying 3 days at the Apex in Jan 2005, but if it sucks I can just go to one up the street. But, then again I like the Nana Hotel in BKK and many don't

stayed at the lek in OCT 04 in the old part for 750bt per night. quite nice would recommed see trip report. new part mini suites 1200-1400 i think don't know didn't look at one

breakfeast buffer 95bt, nothing special excep fresh brewed coffee which makes it worth it for me

dinner buffet nothing special. only nice thing about buffets is if you have thai girl they have both shitty food and thai food, good way to try some differnt thai foods without having to figure out the menue

I'd agree the Apex is one of the worst in Pattaya. BTW, do hotels ever read forums like this, to see what people really think? But what about the worst anywhere? Talking "proper" hotels. A few years ago, Bangkok Airways screwed up my flight from U-Tapao to Phuket and put me in a real dump on Koh Samui, near the Big Buddha. The room was about the size of my bog at home (didn't smell as nice though) and on a boiling hot night the a/c (right beside my bed) sounded like a C-130 revving up. Next morning the receptionist muttered "200 Baht" and when I mentioned Bangkok Airways just shrugged and went back to her photo-romance. Think it was called the "Benjarritt Resort" or something. Nice sunset though...

I can just imagine if I was sitting on the throne reading the paper and a rat came up out of the toilet wearing my deposit. No doubt about it I would have lost it. Rats, snakes and stray dogs are my phobias.

I was away in the land of smiles for 2 months!

 

For the stray dogs in Pattaya, they understand the tone of voice, but if you stamp your foot and say MAI! loudly, they should take off. I hate it when the those mange ridden dogs take a sniff at your heels!
