I am looking at staying in Bkk a night or two and always stay around washington square, this time I am thinking a lot closer to NEP. I have read here about staying at the Nana but, I'm not sure which one that would be. Would I be looking at the hotel or the inn? Also is it the one close to nana plaza? Thanks for any help

The Nana Hotel is right across the Soi from the entrance to Nana Entertainment Plaza. I've never stayed there, but a lot of people seem to like it for the price and the breakfast buffet. And don't forget, there are a lot of places to stay right around there: Dynasty Inn; Majestic Suites; JW Marriott; Omni; Landmark; etc. etc. If it were me and I was trying to save a bit of money, the Majestic Suites is a good compromise.

Travlling, here is a link to the Nana Hotel if you want to check it out. There doesn't seem to be a lot of middle-ground with people on this hotel....most either really like it or think it's a dump. With their large lobby, disco, and parking lot attracting many freelancers, plus it being right across the street from Nana Entertainment Plaza, that's really the Nana's selling point. Apparently they do have some refurbished and larger rooms at a higher price than their other rooms, but I've only stayed in their shabbier rooms. Rex gave you some good advice, if you choose to stay there or don't like the looks of the room, there's many other better places nearby. I've stayed at the Dynasty Inn, Omni Towers, and the Nana (all on Soi 4, although the Omni is a bit of a hike up Soi 4) and as far as quality of rooms, the Omni was hands-down #1 among the 3, followed by Dynasty, then Nana. While never staying there, I've heard good reports on the Majestic Suites, which is in the same price range as the Nana Hotel and just a very short walk to NEP.

It really depends on how much you want to spend on your accomodation, you can usually get JW Marriott for around 75$.

Majestic suites comes well reccomended, also a hotel called Grottino but that is around soi 19.

As far as I'm conceerned, the Majestic Suites is just fine. The only drawback is the size of the rooms. Other than that, you can't complain: Sony Triniton TVs, marble bath, in-room safe, mini bar, spotlessly clean, and a free breakfast. The breakfast is no buffet, but it'll do. American breakfast- two eggs, toast, orange juice, coffee. Last time I was there the rooms were about 1350 baht. And it's totally girl friendly. I remember once checking out early in the morning and some Thai girl stopped by the reception desk to pick up her ID card. The receptionist had a whole handfull.

JW Marriott

Try the Priceline HK website. Bid for a 4 star hotel in the Sukhumvit area. Start bidding at 400 HK Dollars per night. Go up from there. You mught get the JW Marriott at around 550 baht. Otherwise, there's the Westin and the Sheraton Grand Sukhumvit.

Hey the nana is okay they keep upgrading rooms and floors so is getting better. Majectic is nice and about 1300 baht. BTW the new majestic is suppose to be open by now. But it is LOS ...so does anyone know if it is open. If not I'll email the owners their good guys. AND they are great tailors.

You will never get the JW for 550 baht on priceline. To get an idea for prices on priceline go to www.biddingfortravel.com

or http://p070.ezboard.com/fpricelineandexpediabiddingfrm262

The problem with priceline is that 2 or the 3 hotel that are 5 star for sukumvit are down at the asoke station. Sheraton and westin. In 11 times bidding on priceline I have gotten the westin or sheraton 5 time the JW none and stop bidding 6 time becuase the price was to high. Lowest I have paid was 55 plus tax the rest of the time it was around 75 plus tax. The westin and especially the sherato are very nice properties. But they are a 5 to 10 minute walk to nana. the Nana Hotel is across the street from NEP. The majectic is around the corner from NEP on sukumvit . The Dynasty is down the block from NEP on soi nana. The woraburi ois farther on down soi nana. the nana tai mansion is at the end of soi nana.

Travlling you don't say if you are driving. Nana Tai Mansion is cheap and the rooms okay but the reason I like it is there is plenty of parking off street. When you park at Nana Hotel you have like 100,000 drunks and katoeys walking past your car all night and sometimes they don't have parking spaces available. The rest of the hotels other than westin and sheraton have either limited or no parking.

I just stayed at Nana Hotel. Nice suite (1500B), clean, although showing some signs of age, nice staff, very good food in the coffee shop, (the Kobe steak is great, if a little pricey at 450B, but try to get a steak that good in the US for less than 1500B.)

And above all: Wall-to-wall girls all around. 2guns

Thanks everyone for the recommendations, I have looked at the reviews and websites for each hotel given, looks like I'll go with the Majestic and take a walk down to the Nana and just see how it looks, no worries and thanks again. I do want to be close to NEP, so soi 19 is outta the question.

1luv Try the, Woraburi it's down Soi 4 on the same side as Nana. And they give free Tuk-Tuk rides ,up to Nana. Nice, decent Delux rooms. Pool on the 5th floor, with bar and food service. Nice place to relax :banghead . Good morning buffet, included with the room. Close, to the Tabacco Manopoly. They, also have a hotel in Phuket.

I've stayed at the Majestic Suites and the Nana Hotel, for the size of a Deluxe room at the Nana Hotel, I'll pay 1,500 Baht.

See the action at 0100 in the Nana Hotel parking lot and you'd understand how much fun the place is...

Plus I love those runny scrambled eggs in the morning {free}

Tab...

But after flying nearly 21 hours to get to BKK, the room size at the Majestic Suites, reminds me of where I've been the last 21 hours...

Too small for me, but the hotel is a nice one.. 1luv
