Footie Revolution??????????

Recommended Posts

HOLY SCHNIEKES, my UK brothers.....

Manchester United bought out by a Yank?????????

Has the planet gone wrong,...or what.

Can my right good UK footie men enlighten this poor Yank as to how this could happen? Has the whole of the UK gone mad permitting an owner of one of the US's National Football Leagues teams to purchase a controling interest in as sacred an endeavour as soccer in Europe?

If indeed this is as sacred a sport as I have been told ad nauseum by all my UK boardies, how could letting a Yank with borrowed cash, putting this team in debt, and simultaneously pissing off the entire isle have been allowed to happen???????

Baz, Winston, Tab, Carlsberg, et al., please explain how this can possibly be.

Now you may all begin to understand how we elected G-Dub to not only one but two terms, and equally ken just how fucked up this planet apparently really is!!!!

Help me on this, my brothers. Rgds, Jimmy :D

Man Utd are (were) a plc.

All plc's are up for sale. If you have the money, borrowed or otherwise, and the share holders are willing to sell, its yours.

They are not the first London club to be owned by a foreigner (Fulham, Chelsea etc).

Yep, Man Utd were a plc though with over 75% of the shares now in his possession, the Yank can take the club private again.

Didn't know that Man Utd had moved Old Trafford to London though :grin-jump

It's happening in Scotland too - a Lithuanian millionaire has just taken control of Hearts.

Apparently, just servicing the debt will cost an arm and a leg daily. I may be wrong here but the club has gone from owing fuck all to owing something in the region of 300 mill overnight. Looking at it logically though, he'll get his money back if if he flogs Rooney, van Nistelrooy, Ferdinand, Silvestre, Heinze, Giggs, Smith, Scholes, Ronaldo, Saha, Neville (the ugly one - oops, they're both fucking mingers) and anyone else he can think of.

I just wonder if the septic knows what he's doing?

By the way, I'm not a Manyoo supporter.

Any chance the Lithuanian will do us a favour and take back Levein?

Somehow I doubt it but as I'm not a Hearts fan, I'll leave Jambo to let us have his thoughts here. Whatever, I can't really see Hearts mounting a serious challenge for the league with the best they can realistically hope of achieving is 3rd place.

seems to me that somebody is buying a depressed property. The buyer knows sports just like the guys that used provide fighters for the games in Rome. The guy buying knows exactly what revnue stream are not being currently tapped and has the goal of getting into big league sport on a world wide scale.

I think Rupert Murdoch of FOX will ultimately own ManU after Glazer runs the team into the ground. Glazer already stated he only has 20 million quid to use for transfers, and he plans to raise ticket prices at Old Trafford next year. Saha is also definitely gone.

Just heard that ManU just re-signed goalkeepers Carroll and Howard. I thought they were looking for a top keeper in the transfer market like Real Madrid's Casillas and Chelsea's Cudicini? :chogdee2
