Any direct bus from BKK airport to Pattaya

Recommended Posts

Another option is when you arrive at the Airport, go up to departures and out were taxis/Mini buses are dropping people off, few years ago i did this and got a mini bus going back to Pattaya for 500 Baht, downstairs in arrivals a taxi/limo was about 1500.

A tip though, be disgreet when asking as its a bit of a no no, usually pretty obvious which mini buses are from Pattaya, full of sad looking blokes having to go home.

I usualy do the 1 night in Bangkok thing though, so Airport bus to Suk, Soi 4, then following day, skytrain to Ekamai, bus to Pattaya, Baht bus to Hotel, all up about 350 Baht.

cheers

Right on. The moonlighting driver gets two days pay in his sky rocket. They never refuse.

A 'mafia' taxi trip from Don Muang to Suk used to cost 300 baht - should be about 100 on a meter. Whether you have the energy or interest to walk to the road lugging your baggage is another matter.

My first trip here overnighted in BKK to get over the trip and acclimatise. Too knackered to hire a lovely at inflated BKK prices. I recommend.

Just a little word of warning regards Bell Travel they do indeed run a service to the Airport for 250baht times are 6am 9am 1pm and 5pm............i used them 2 weeks ago for a trip i was doing down to Singapore.

Word of warning is this...............only the 6am goes direct to the airport the other 3 runs stop in Bang Na to pick up passengers from Bangkok Hotels who want to go to the airport so they tell you 2 hours for the 6am run and allow 3 hours for the other 3 runs.

Something to take into account when working your times out.

The time of 3 hours still not bad. My entire trip lasted over 3 hours when I couldnt find the direct bus from Bkk airport to Pattaya. I ended up taking taxi to Morchit2--little traffic so took over 30min, then the wait for Pattaya bus to leave the station (another 20min) then bus took about 2 hours 30min to get to Pattaya. Total 3.5hrs

And cost more, taxi fare+tolls+airport taxi surcharge+pattaya bus fare=over 300b

So direct bus still a bargain.

So just to clarify, If I showed up at airport (assuming International arrival and not calling them ahead as I dont know how long it takes if my flight gets delayed and getting thru customs etc,

where exactly do I wait for this bus ,

Also, Do these buses usually leave on time?

Please note: These questions are for the bus leaving BKK airport for Pattaya, thanks

do the nana hotel route. Grab a taxi to nana hotel, metered 200 baht. Stay there a couple a nights and have a wild time, 1100 baht a night(one night in bangkok or 2 LOL) . Then book there daytime minibus for 300 baht nana hotel to the hotel of your choice in pattaya. Party hard at the angel disco or chill at the morning, night beer bar all around the nana hotel.

Otherwise if you dont want to go to bkk, expecially at night then just get a taxi to pattaya. They will ask 1600 , you negate it down to 1200-1300, try to find a couple of punters like you to split the fare , check the section on this board that deals with arrivals and splitting taxi fares, find out if anybody is arriving at the same time as you , if not then just walk around the arrivals and yell anybody wanna split a cab to pattaya! you wil be surprised . you might even find a teeruk that awaiting to scoop up her punter thats arriving on your plane. Take a look on your flight that is heading into bkk and see if you can find anyone who is headed to pattaya. Just look at guys who look like punters . With some you can really tell, as many have this look on their face , i cant explain it but you will know when you see a fellow punter.

Well, I suppose that very cost concious travelers will be traveling lite on the baggage...If that is the case then take a taki to Mo Chit BTS 6am/12pm op hours and then take Sky Train to Eakmai Station... Less than 100 baht taxi, 40 baht Sky Train and I have no Idea about the bus cost as I would be looking for the car service, as I have done in the past... http://www.thaiairways.com/About_Thai/Limousine/fares.htm

Thai is still going and I expect their prices to be inline with other deluxe sedan car services Just a thought....I've seen some of the drivers on the Meter Taxi runs etc and I prefer the well rested and sober drivers of Thai Limo....At 3250 OW it is a bargain as I often use the J.W. Marriot car servive at 1800TBT for OW Don Muang. Now note these late model Benz cars runn well at 120 -130 KPH and seem to get no traffic tickets. About 72 hars my river from the JW passed a police stand on the toll road doing about 130 at 0445 hours just flashing his lights was the pass code..... A care service may be safer. but if all you have is a back pack...Sawadee......... http://www.transport.co.th/Eng/HomeEnglish.htm will give yousome insights.....Don't fall asleep and guard your valuables......

All this information will be obsolete if the new airport opens by October.

Still cant count on new airport opening in Oct 2006 because thats what they said in Nov 2005 when I was there that it should be opened awhile ago, but still landed at same old airport. But good news should be New airport closer to Pattaya, so maybe cheaper travel there (I HOPE?)

Ekamai Bus Station serves the destinations east of Bangkok.   Mo Chit services the destination north of Bangkok.  Pattaya is east of Bangkok.

Why would you go north to go east??   Going via Ekamai is the most direct way to Pattaya.

Rubbish........

You can get buses from Mo Chit to Pattaya and Kanchanaburi which is West.

Why would you go into Bangkok from the airport to get to traffic snarled Ekamai.

Buses from Moe Chit to Pattaya run to about 7pm about every 1/2 hour. Some travel via the motorway (extra few baht) which is quite fast, the others go through Bangkok on the expressway.

Arrived on 8th Dec at 7:30pm after 14hrs in airports and planes, took a meter taxi from the rank outside arrivals to Nana for 150bt + 50bt airport fee + 60bt for tolls. Grabbed a freelancer from the Nana car park for a quickie at 500bt then hit the disco around midnight and found a stunner for 1000bt LT. Buffet breakfast next morning then 20bt for skytrain to Ekamia, 110bt for bus to Pattaya and 20bt for baht bus to Sandy Spring, arriving around 1:00pm – IMO, it’s the easiest way to handle the arrival in LOS :beer

Regarding the baht bus question once at the Pattaya bus terminal, you can always walk across the road and jump on a moving baht bus for 10 baht, if you see one with the yellow markings then it is only 5 baht.

Emil, Could you please further explain the distinction of the yellow marking?

Will some of those moving baht busses go to Nakula instead of Pattaya?

Will the moving baht busses or standing baht busses at the terminal typically end at Pattaya Tai and 2nd Road?

My objective is to get to the Koenig Mansion on Soi Yensabai and would prefer not to walk with my luggae from 2nd Road and Pattaya Thai. If driver brings me to hotel is 60 baht the appropriate fare?

Some reccomend going to departures at Don Muang to save the 50 baht airport fee. Do you concur with this or is better to wait on the official line?

At Morchitt do I want the Motorway bus? One website advise the regular bus for unknown reasons.

I agree Pty Steve. Are they having a laugh?

After a longhaul flight i just want to get showered & changed into some clean clothes. Fcuk messing around with buses. <grin

I've used Mr T before, but another choise is a firm down Soi Skaw beach. Again, they will meet you at the a/p.

kerddee1@hotmail.com. Email them shortly before you go with your flight details. - Voila!

Or failing that, on arrival at bkk a/p, go to departures, wait for a taxi which has just dropped someone off, (avoiding the 50B a/p surcharge) go to Morchit, get a BKS bus to Pty, then on arrival at Pty bus station, walk past the waiting baht bus drivers (avoiding the 40-60B fare) flag down a moving baht bus, get straight in, hopefully he isn't going up the Naklua Rd, and get off wherever along the Beach Rd. Voila!

Cheaper than Mr T & Kerddee's taxi pickups, but do you really want all this just after getting off the plane?

What could be easier than walking out of the airport, grabbing a taxi to Mo Chit and picking-up a bus within a half-an-hour?

From airport to hotel 300 baht with the baht bus figured in and you get to either sit next to a bar girl going to work or a smelly drunk. Last time I was lucky enough to sit right next to the toilet and got a good whiff everytime someone used it.

But seriously, the buses are quick and easy. Never had a problem with them.

Hmmm :D Walking right into a waiting taxi and not having to move again until you reach your hotel?

Although i do agree, the BKS bus system is very good and reliable, personally i just can't be arsed with them on arrival.

csm, 1,200 B. Sorry, but i've lost the phone no. -

I know Mr T is cheaper, but he let me down once and i haven't used him since. I'm not saying he's unreliable, just i'd had a bad experience with him and would rather use someone else. If he works for others, great.

Btw, Kerddee will use a Bkk meter taxi.
