Recommended Posts

HI All,

Unexpectedly, It looks like ill be in Pattaya for the first two weeks of November. As Ive not been in November before, will I have any problems finding a room when I arrive, or should I start searching now and book in advance.

TIA

Book as soon as you can it'll take out the hastle not knowing.. Even better would be to book 2/3 nights and decide after if you want to stay longer or get out and find somewhere better?? This is thailand and its up to you as you should know!!

Have fun because I'll be there then also!!

Hi,

It's Loy Krathong time, but I've been there at that time and have always walked in without problems. Places like the Bay Breeze finish their cheaper deals at the end of October.

While there is a fairly good chance of finding accommodation when you arrive I think joksuk is giving good advise. It gives you a day or two to look around ,find somewhere you like, without the hassle of being burdened with baggage.

  • 2 weeks later...

if you have been to Patts already and have some places in mind just make the bookings and get it over with. Do you really want to spend your time looking at hotels to go to while you're there?

You can do what I have done a few times (Not planned).

I booked a room for 2 weeks and after a couple of nights, I was not satisfied with it. I then spent a couple of hours scouting for a better one, booked it, and then went back to my hotel and checked out, telling them that I was moving. After paying the bill in full, there was no dramas with the management. This way, if you are unable to find a better place, you at least have a place to stay.

I would advise book in advance but direct not with an agency website.

Agency sites usually make you pay the whole amount in advance which makes it difficult to move on if you don't like it, find a better one, or decide to spend a night or two away.

If you "make a reservation" direct with a hotel you can still get good deals and you pay when you leave not before you arrive.

I have seen many times people book hotels through websites that want the whole amount upfront - not really a good idea at all.

If you are interested in an appartment rather than a hotel - I have put up a lot of links inot one page on

http://pattaya-news.com/property-to-rent-pattaya/

There are some short term rental paces on there as well as the usual longer term ones.

Go through the Hotel reviews and leverage the experience of other BMs. Just book one with good reviews online as I had a little problem in Mid October without a prior booking.
