The only place I ever got ill feeling ie: taking immodium AD, was from the pizza place by Royal garden plaza.

I have eaten food from the markets and food carts from Pattaya to way out from Nakornsawan (about 6 hours NW of Bangkok).

Yep even tried the Insects.

FWIW

Just finished my 21st trip

I always eat off the street

I look before i leap

If it smells or looks dodgy...pass

I eat alot of fruit off the carts, 2 or 3 times a day

Drink only bottled water

Brush teeth with bottled water

I have only gotten sick in The Big Mango

and that was 2 years ago

Just my experiance

oh, and i dont drink alcohol or smoke

i am pretty sure alot of "food poisoning" is really "alcohol poisoning"

Jiggy is alive and well and on another forum :D

A clue - one to do with bar ladies

I know where jiggy is. I talk with him nearly everyday. We seem to have a similar train of thought sometimes?

jiggy is very active in the Thailand forum community. I know for a fact that he is going to be in Pattaya within the next 2 weeks. If anyone would like to meet him, please contact me and I will see if he is interested in meeting with you.

The insects that they sell as food are killed by frying them in oil alive and fried again at the stall before they sell them to customers!

Insects catched in the wild might have some insecticides in them depending on where they have been grazing, so therefore one should be careful about eating them!

On the other hand most stalls offering insects as snacks has bought their critters from farms and they have been brought up without coming into contact with insecticides, and therefore there shouldn't be any risk of getting poisoned from eating them!

I eat fried grasshoppers frequently that I buy from the lady that sells them near Marina Plaza behind Walking Street in South Pattaya, she buys them from breeders, I never had any problems eating them!

Tastes like salty and spicy crisps (potato chips)! Saep Eeree Jing Jing! :thumbup

Just make sure that you break off the far end of the grasshoppers legs before you eat them, because they have small spikes that "hooks on" to your gums and can be difficult to get out! :D :D
