Browsing the airline websites - I notice that in general, it's not possible to book a flight leaving in the very short term. However, with Emirates it's possible to book online for the next day. I found this to be quite impressive.

Today the 27th, I can book for tomorrow, the 28th, departing Birmingham airport for a total price (including taxes) of £434.10

 

Longer term bookings seem to be around £546.

 

All flights stop in Dubai.

 

Only snag is the website appears to have some dead links and there appears to be no way of reserving a particular seat OR viewing the flight seating layout.

 

I also notice that Qantas (much better, user friendly website) now have a flight from Birmingham. I beleive this is new? However, ECONOMY is £1400 compared to £620 from Heathrow. I think the flights are extremely limited. Would be cheaper to get a bloo*y taxi from Birmingham to Heathrow, LOL!

just checked prices for feb,emirates site 514quid,airline network 444.no brainer.

for emirates..click on the "skywards" link to join there freequent flyers..its free. then when your a member you can book your seats...

 

i have just booked with emirates to go january 6th.. return january 24th for £486 .....

Twice I have used Emirates from Manchester, well impressed compared to KLM/Air France.

 

Joined Skywards and with another 2 trip to Thailand I should be getting near to qualifying for a free return flight to Thailand

 

And upto to date they have given me 7500 bonus miles after only 2 trips
