After lengthy chats tonight i promised I'd give the owners a chance to put their opinions forward.

What are you're headaches and dislikes?

Air them here and maybe ( :thumbup ) they can be discussed with the "mongers'.

PS I'm pissed now and going to bed but i will be putting opinions forward tomorrow.

Lets see who speaks up, Opinions are of course fair play but are owners being given a raw deal?

What I dont like where to start?

Customers who come in buy a draft beer and want to finger girls in the bar and not even buy them a drink.

People who think they know how to run the bar business in pattaya when they dont have a fucking clue what goes on behind the scenes.

I could go on for hours but there are too many it will be interesting to see what other people dislike.

<grin

Even if the complaint is valid ?

Valid in who's opinion.

I meant thats what I'd use reading alot of the stuff regarding Pattaya changing and barfines etc etc.

Valid complaints will of course be taken seriously. :banghead

My biggest Gripe is guys who mistreat the girls. One girl came back covered in blood. The guy punched her in the face because she did not want to give a blow job.

Another guy put a knife to the girls throat.

Next gripe is aggresive drunks who want to fight everyone in the bar and my last one (for this post) is drunks who feel that every one in the bar has to be their best friend. They will pester the other people till in the end they check bin and leave. The drunk just moves on to the next person! This ends up with an empty bar except for the drunk, unless of course the drunk is told where to go to by an aggressive customer.

Chris,

These two guys are guilty of assault - no other word for it. The girls would have been fully entitled to have called the Police.

If the guys are board members, they should be named and shamed and hopefully banned from this and every other Pattaya based board for life.

Anyone who starts pestering other people in a bar should be told to pay up and to fuck off (politely of course, )

So despite MANY legitimate postings on these subjects you would still class them as in-valid,and not to be addressed seriously? Is this what is called "Customer Relations'? :banghead <huh :clueless

If you mean the posts about girls wanting too much, bars not allowing barfines or customers not being allowed to take girls without paying barfines then yes that is invalid IMO. :gulp

That isn't a part of customer relations IMO, the drinks and surroundings and whether you get value for money etc is valid though. :thumbup

Remember though I haven't got a gogo so none of these barfine/ girly related things matter to me to be honest.

Is there anything worse than being in a bar, doing no more than having a quiet drink, when some neanderthal, borderline retarded thug wants to fight you for no reason? One of the great things about LOS is that such behaviour seems far less prevalent than in the UK (and probably most other western societies). Sadly it does still happen, although it is very clear to me that the aggressors are very careful about who they pick on.

Give the owners a break!

There are plenty of polite fun loving bar customers.

However, look at most any bar and observe the clientel and their actions

I am no brad pit, not 35 yo, and have put my foot in my mouth on many occasions

but, heck guys, be realistic what these bar owners ( and ladies for that matter ) put up with

I personally do not go out in my home country acting & dressing & grooming like many do in Pattaya.

This is not a flame, just an observation.

(hmmm...no wonder the thai's think of farangs as they do.......)

interesting that this post has been up a while and not many posts

imho, the poor barkeeps dont want to open their mouth

Not surprised, look at the title of the thread, "Bar owners redemption thread". They obviously have nothing to atone for!

The things some BM's want to hear or know about (BF's, etc.), are considered off limits to discuss or get ignored (their advertising continues though, good for them).

How dare BM's bring these things up to the Falang WS Bar Owners Association, when most BM's have no idea what it is like to own a bar in Pattaya, shame on us.

Certainly no excessive profiteering or gouging happening, just business as usual. Same but different.

I haven't posted much as the barfine and ST/LT crap and doesn't apply to me or my bar, I though I'd let others have their say.

I did this thread on Secrets and its up to 4 pages now but who knows maybe other bar owners are worried about upsetting other board members?

I'm open to question though.

Here are my gripes in my place-

Customers that go across the stage to go to the Men's toilets.

Customers that keep trying to get on stage with the band.

People requesting the same songs all of the time (Lam Morrison )

Sound experts who harp on about how the sound isn't right (A sore subject)

Complaining about "fake" drinks although I don't serve any.

My main complaints are with the poxy city council really and their incompetence regarding running water and the state of the soi in general and lastly too be really honest punters that think that the bar, staff & girls owe them a favour all of the time.

Of course if the bar owners treat customers badly in their bars then that's a different matter as yes bars are there to serve people but there is a limit.

:clap2

My Gripes in no particular order.

1. Bars that have welcome girls outside, who attract you, bring you to the bar and then vanish, she is then replaced by the resident Troll who appears from a cave under the bar. This practise is very shortsighted by barowners. They get the price of 1 drink off a customer, but then loses this customers business forever and also the custom of friends he will tell. I don't even look at the welcome girls anymore, instead I prefer to check out the girls that are behind the counter already.

2. Bars that continuously check your drink, by picking up your bottle and shaking it to see how much is left in it or peering down into it. This gets annoying especially when 1 girl brings you a drink and 10 seconds later a different girl is over checking how much is left. I am perfectly capabale of checking to see how much drink I have and then deciding whether I want to order again or not.

3. Drunks in bar that keep shaking your hand whilst slurring some rubbish that is only important to him. These usually come in two types. The drunk that shakes your hand and doesn't let it go, but continues to shake it every so often, you are forced to prise your hand from his. The second is the drunk that shakes your hand, lets it go, then shakes your hand again a minute later and again a minute later and carries on like this all night if you don't put a stop to it.

That's unfortunately what they are hired for, to get you in the bar, most bars give them commission for doing this, you go in, they go back out to get more punters.

My street girls don't bring customes to the bar.

Agreed again. :banghead

That's a tough one. My guess (from observing many customer's reactions on this behaviour) is that some dislike it, and some almost seem to demand it. We have customers who complain that noone is around to refill his glass / bottle once it is empty. Damn if you do, damn if you don't.

But of course the customer is always right (which one?) :banghead

I much prefer someone checking on me rather than sitting waiting for someone to come within earshot to order another. Doesn't seem like much of a bother to me.

I realize this thread got a little off topic and I am just furthering that, but here goes... I have to agree that I hate it when a waitress picks up my bottle to see if it is empty. I find this behavior very insulting, because the reason most bars do this is to see if the drink is empty and the customer is just nursing an empty bottle. At least that is how it was explained to me when I worked in bars. Check to see if I want anything but keep your hands off my drink!

See I am the opposite, i think its good service.

I never feel pressured or obligated to drink faster to order a drink I don't want.

I feel its good service and ensures that my next beer is ready for me as I finish the previous.

I hate being in a place with 10 girls 2 baff staff and a manager and not be able to get anyone to serve you becuase everyone is concentrating on some minor probelm.

As far as drunks talking shit goes I have a very low tolerance, unless its me then its the height of good humor. :banghead

You run a good joint and I like it. :clap1

The only time I've been on stage is when I've been invited by the singer.

Your customers are RIGHT the sound is to loud and balanced to far into the treble range. It's shrill. :D You need to turn it down.

Dealing with city council, why don't you guys start a farang business association to deal with them. Politicians listen to groups. Especially ones that make campaign contributions.

Seems like a strange dislike, as you are in business to sell alcohol and that does make people drunk.
