ello there mr singha.

i stayed in the pasedena in spetember for a month...its a fantastically layed out place........no girls work there except the cleaners and receptionists............maybe they will change that.......

anyhow it was worth the 800 baht per night when i stayed......but apparently these were just introductary offers ...rumour has it they will want 1200 per room???...........i personally think they will price themselves out of the area coz there are many lovely rooms in lots of places in soi lk metro..............

ive tried to book 5 rooms for next september and as yes they havent told me how much altho they said they are booked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that to me seems a bit odd unless there is a price change............

i contacted the through pasadenalodge@yahoo.com..

if you do get a room booked could you let me know if they have changed there prices?

cheers

fook <grin

I stopped and looked the place over in October. It is fairly new, and the rooms are large. One of the good points for me is they have an elevator, a rarity on the Soi. The place was very clean and the staff friendly. The one problem is I spend time on the soi, and didn't want to have to pass some of my favorite bars every day with my latest.

Website working - it does look rather nice. The no-no 300 bht 3rd person charge (oh that's only 6 euros per night but it would mount up if you were with your missus like me). Otherwise I would try it out - has all the facilities.

I stayed there 2 weeks in Nov., in one of the delux room facing front.

Room is very nice, and service was always exceptional.

The big question would be for the side rooms that face the new building going up behind it. I like a lot of light comming in from my windows, therefore have question about these rooms (unless high enough).

I would happily stay in one of the delux rooms, even at the high season rack rate of B.1500 (which I doubt you need to pay).

If you don't care what's outside your window, then the other rooms are probbaly quite nice.

No pool.

Does have in-room safe, good TV+DVD. Aircon is fine.

In room Internet? Hard wired or wireless?

Don't know. There was one weak beacon (open) that I could pick up in my room. A little iffy (they left the name the ever popular "linksys", so I have no idea if was the hotel's or somebody else's).

I did see people using notebooks in the lobby but never tried myself (as I usually prefer a non-hotel bar/pub/cafe once out of my bed, and that took me a 100ft walk).

No inroom wired LAN.

Sorry but would have to disagree with the "Large room" comment! How can you call a 20/26 sq met room "Large" unless you are a dwarf! :chogdee :D <grin IMO certainly overpriced for this reason and in this location (although I like location)! Best thing going for it is the elevator!

I'm staying at the Pasadena now for a few days. I'm in a superior room. (26 sqm) at the high season rate of 1,000 baht a day.

I like the hotel and the layout of the rooms, a few things others should be aware of. The king size bed in their superior rooms are two twin beds pushed together, there is no balcony, the rooms do not have phones so if you have a friend staying there you can't call them room to room. The AC is a little on the noisy side.

The construction noise did not bother me. I was able to sleep through 12 pm today. The construction noise seems to be sporatic with the occasional hammering. Could get worse as the weeks go on.

The deal breaker for me maybe the two twin beds pushed together. I find this feature pretty annoying. I have another day to decide if I'll stay at the Pasadena for the rest of my trip or book new accomodations. :gulp

On my last night in Pattaya in December we went to have a drink at the bar next door. I noticed this hotel for the first time and liked the look of it. It has so many positive reviews from the posts on this thread.

Does have in-room safe, good TV+DVD. Aircon is fine.

Is this all rooms or just the deluxe room? The website just mentions safety deposit box which could be located at reception.

The website has pictures of a superior room and a superior twins room. The superior room looks to have a bedhead indicating a double/king size bed.

Either way the superior room looks OK and reasonably priced. It may well be worth a try for my next trip in March.

All room types have an in-room safe.

I have to correct my earlier post. When I spoke to reception initially they showed me one other superior room that also had two twin beds pushed together and at that time she indicated that all beds were probably the same. Later today the receptionist advised they do have superior rooms with "big bed" and I'll be able to change rooms tomorrow.

I've since booked the rest of my stay at the Pasadena.

Thanks for that information. It looks like a nice place to stay.

Just trying to work out an easy way to get from/to Soi LK Metro to bottom of Soi 7 Beach road. I assume baht buses going down Soi Buakhow towards Pattaya Klang turn left. If so, do these continue on down to Beach Road? Also to return back to Soi LK Metro would it require 2 baht buses? One down to Walking Street or South Pattaya Rd and then another up Second Road or walk down to Soi Buakhow and get one heading up to Pattaya Klang.

From the bottom of Soi 7 Beach Road...

Hop on the baht bus and get off at Mike's Shopping Mall. Walk through the mall to Second Road and you will see Kiss restaurant across the street and on on the corner. That is Soi Diana. Walk up this soi for about 3 minutes and Soi LK Metro is on the left.

If you have mobility problems, grab a moto taxi at Mike's and he can drop you off at Soi LK Metro.

From Soi LK Metro to Soi 7...

Either walk down to Second Road and catch a baht bus or walk up to Soi Bukaow and grab a baht bus. The wild card with the Soi Bukaow baht bus is that you need to make sure it is turning left towards Topps. Some of the buses go to Big C and some go to beach road.

My advice is to walk to Second Road and go from there. But like I said, if you have mobility problems, then just grab a moto taxi.

Enjoy!

I have done this many times as I have stayed at Dynasty Inn the last 4 trips and I usually have a meal at Tipp Plaza. I have also stayed at Areca Lodge one trip. No mobility problems but just concerned about walking too much under the heavy influence of alcohol.

Even if I get to Second Road and it turns off to Big C is good enough. Soi 7 not far from there.

I have not been on a moto taxi in 14 trips. I can almost guarantee that I will not be using a moto taxi next trip.

Thanks for the very useful advice.

I stayed at Pasadena Lodge for 11 nights in March. I was reasonably happy with the accommodation and the staff/security are very friendly. I booked a superior room with big bed and I arrived at 1:00am. I was allocated room 402 and the security guard handed me the key. This was one of the rooms with the twin beds together and I woke up a few times through the night as I kept sleeping where the two twin beds meet and the bulge at the edge of the two mattresses was very hard on the back. I was able to change to 303 the next morning. Only 1,000 a night.

Here are some of the pros

  • The location is great
  • The staff and security very friendly
  • I took the same girl back to the room on 3 different nights and he took her ID card each time without me asking
  • The shower head fell and broke during the second night and it was replaced straight away when I reported it in the morning
  • It has an in room safe and the air conditioning and refridgerator all work perfectly OK. Note for some people the room is hot most times so you need the air conditioning on all the time
  • It is very handy to have 2 bottles of water a day not for the cost saving but for the convenience
  • The television has enough variety for an Englidh speaking person and the DVD player is an added bonus
  • I found the room spacious in fact more than I needed and the bathroom is big with hot water available from both the shower and the tap over the sink for shaving
  • Plenty of light in the rooms even with the construction next door
  • The hotel offers a laundry service but I did not use it as there are plenty of them on Soi LK Metro
  • The linen except for the bed sheets and doona were replaced on a daily basis with the staff cleaning and vacuuming the whole room. I noticed this as I was feeling sick one day and I remained in the room while 4 people were cleaning away
  • There was no issue with noise from the bars at night but I think the bars were quiet most nights anyway even though there was plenty of people around
  • Plenty of choices for food and drink within a 5 minute walk and 2nd Road is only a 10 minute walk away
  • The superior room was only 1,000 baht/night and when I checked out I was given a thank you letter

Some of the cons

  • The staff do not speak great English but somehow managed to communicate OK
  • When checking out they wanted to charge me for the shower head even though it was not my fault. I explained the story again and they let it go
  • The construction in some areas appears to be flimsy. Don't lean too hard on the shelf in the shower area as it may fall of the hinges and break
  • The doona and sheets are not changed every day. Not sure if they were changed at all but it seemed like they just swapped it around every possible way. I know this from the same burn mark that kept appearing in a different position relative to the bed
  • The construction does start very early Monday-Saturday but is not a great problem as I was up early anyway to get ready for golf
  • The wall between the bathroom and the sleeping area is some sort of frame with opaque glass with 2 sliding doors/sheets that come together
  • There is a balcony but you can't get to it although not an issue for me
  • The door has a lock but no latch or chain for extra security. I just put the lounge chair in front of the door but the security guard is there all night anyway

For me the clean sheets and doona is definitely the biggest issue. Taking a girl back to the room and she stays overnight I want to sleep on clean sheets the next night. I don't mind paying extra to have clean linen everyday. So would need to come to some arrangement if I stay here again next time. The rest of the cons are only minor and not deal breakers.

I am back again in June but not sure whether to stay here again or try yet another place. I think it deserves a second chance. Sometimes I think it is better the devil you know....

Can you explain why you were unable to get onto the balcony please as this would be a big issue for me?

Because there is no door just a glass window from floor to ceiling.

The deluxe rooms at the front of the building have accessible balconies.

  • 4 weeks later...

I sent an email to the hotel complaining about the bed linen not been changed on a daily basis. They were really apologetic and informed me that the maids were not doing their jobs properly and have already been replaced. I guess there would have been other complaints.

Anyway I have given the hotel another chance and have booked it for the second half of June. I also have a tentative booking for September that depends on the service provided during the next trip.
