I recommend any beach in Mauritius for you and your husband, the beaches in Thailand are dirty.

the only good and clean beeches are over on kho larn, take the ferry and then the baht bus over the hill to the other side, very nice beech and very clean, alternatively travel south to bang sarae, this has very nice beeches and very clean also, but not pattaya beech

There are about 6 beaches on Koh Larn. I prefer Samae which may be the same one your refering.

Koh larn offer the nicest beaches on the area, but some place in Wong Amat, just before Pattaya and Jomtien near Ambassador are good alternatives

I prefer Samae too.

Some of the spots in Wong Amat and Naklua are pretty decent -- certainly much better than Pattaya and Jomtien.

There are some very nice beaches in the Pattaya area. I prefer just below Jomtien, but as the pictures immediately above indicate the beaches just above Pattaya are quite nice. And there are hotels of varying quality in both those areas.
