Recommended Posts

My tilak is looking for a job . non p4p of course ! :D and not in a bar

age 27 (i think lol), and good looking if it matters.

our little sprog is now 6 weeks old and the live in nanny is doing her job so the mrs is bored.

speaks english & japanese, and thai of course .

the big problem being i'm convinced if she works hotel recepion or something like that and only earns about 9k or 10k baht that i wil spend more she earns just as i'll be all alone to fend for myself

so any buisness owners out there, property shops, cooking school :bow , or anything descent looking for a good reliable employee ?

PS . MM .. we need an expats section back in the members area !!

Yeah,I got that from your 1st post.So if I understand the remainder of that

post, its more important for your wife to earn 15-20k baht than spend time bonding with her newborn?Nice of you to put a price on that.Sounds like a kid that gets bored with a Christmas gift after 6 weeks.

One suggestion would be to get rid of the nanny..........

I found that getting a job for my bored tilac was not easy. All the jobs were full time... maybe 48 hours and I wanted her back home more time than that would allow. Also the money hardly seemed worth it. In the end she went off to a school to learn a hobby or two.

She did hairdressing........didn't seem to like that.

Next was making clothes....this she liked and now we have some strange gadgets that make noise and clothes in the spare bedroom.

She now combines an advanced English course with helping the teachers in the 'clothes making' class.

The school is a Catholic church sponsored place, but they do not push religion at all. It costs next to nothing, I believe they just want to give girls and women skills to keep them out of the usual Pattaya trade. Many students are the wives and tilacs of farangs.

Thai women do seem keen to offload the work of taking care of a baby, she gets sent to mama, or worse, mama comes to stay to help out. Not the way it was done when I was young, but frequent here. Yours, at only 27, certainly should not be allowed to get bored.

perhaps i should rephrase board.

she not bored of taking care of baby . she would prefer to sit at home and do so.

she wishs to have the self respect of having her own money that she has earned in her own pocket without having to ask the stickey farang for a handout. nad the only way to acomplish for her to do this is get a job.

that was why i was asking here. as expats will know that a normal thai job is 12 hours per day, 7 days per week, and the pay is less for a month than we spend in one day on the town .

Obviously Thai and American traditions differ greatly on this subject, but you may want to explain to her that's it's a "career" of sorts to raise a child properly. It's a full time job for sure and I agree with jacko, lose the nanny. How much more fulfilled and proud could a person be to have a child grow up to be a well-rounded human being.I know many girls leave their kids with mama to come to the big city to earn money but that's not her case as she has you for support.

I do see her side of wanting her own money though.Being multi-lingual opens many doors for her-perhaps somethng in the tourist, travel industry-preferably with a large hotel.

Whatever the outcome, best of luck with the situation.

Who does all the shopping, cooking, cleaning, washing clothes and paying the bills? My wife always hated to ask me for money so I had her figure out how much she needed for the monthly bills including our clothes and my cigarettes. She came up with a figure of 20,000 baht. I give her 25,000 and she manages to save about 5,000 baht a month in her savings account. She doesn't have any kids but even if she did there would NOT be a housekeeper nor a nanny. No wonder your wife is bored. She has no work to do.

Exactly, Gary.

hybrid, tell her the job is take care house, baby and your cock, not necessarily in that order.

Pay her a salary to do it.

She can be paid on the 15th and 30th, up to her.

Yr welcome.

My grandfather gave my grandmother an allowance to run the house. Of course, what she didn't spend, she hid from him.

Unfortunately you are thinking like we do in the west.My girl is a good girl, worked making computers in Bangkok . She worked 15 hour days because that is all there is no start at 8 o clock and finish at 5, She works monday to saturday , Because thats the job. If she did not like it there are Thousands of other people who would do the job . If you are not from Thailand, Burma Malaysia or any other surrounding country they get paid less. For working 15 hours a a day [not by choice].6 days a week for a month ,her pay is, 5200baht, Now can you see why they come to Pattaya . If you have the money get her educated ,[ If she wants ],

this is a great topic

I was raised by my Mother when she wasn't working, otherwise I pretty much took care of myself, pasta or popcorn after school & lots of cartoons on telly, LOL

paying your TGF a salary to stay home is to me like Rent-A-Wife but that's just something I am not inclined to do

Hybrid, are you sorry you asked? Isn't it interesting how few answer your question and how many moralising fuckers want to tell you how to bring up your child? You obviously make your own decisions and you should continue to do so.

I think Jacko had a valid point that most jobs want her to work more hours than you would like her to and the salary is not that great.

Before our sprog was born she helped out in the bars but then became more involved in the administration side and was starting a B2B business when she fell pregnant.

Had a couple of maids but I think it is better for her to stay with the kid for the first few years and then perhps do something when the kid goes to school.
