I couldn`t find when low season or high season was for the rovers in this thread or on the irishrovers site http://www.the-irish-rovers.com/index.php

Found out from Pat its October to March high season..April to September low season

Best thing about the Rovers is when the Peter Barlow lookalike, who does the cooking, makes Betty's Hotpot and shouts "if you want it, come and get it "

Here is my 2 cents on "The Irish Rovers". I have just spent the last 10 days there and I will TRY to make this a review of The Rovers and not a trip report.

 

-The Rooms- Probably the best guest house rooms around. Wonderful maid service, very clean bathrooms, big fridge, good air con. ect... I was worried about the noise from LK but there was none.

 

-The Restaurant- There are many fine places to eat around the area and I tried a lot of them. Rovers is on par with any of them. Good menu, reasonable prices, cute waitresses.

 

-The Bar- Once again there are many places to eat and drink in the area and I tried most of them. The Rovers made me feel welcome from the start and there was always someone to have a drink with at the bar. Prices were on par with most places.

 

-The Golf- Pat and Ian put together excellent golf packages which I took advantage of. They choose quality courses and combine it with a couple of great meals and the mandatory bar crawl to Ban Chang after the golf. It makes for a great day and is something that should not be missed.

 

-The Staff- I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the staff they have working in the bar. You dont need to leave the hotel to find quality girls. The cashiers are second to none.

 

Pat, everyone will miss you but I am sure Ian and Dom will succeed. I plan on making the Rovers my permanent base camp on all my future Pattaya trips.

We have now employed a new Chef who is a very good cook and serves European and Thai Food at a professional level.

Lovely steaks and everything is Home made! You will be able to sample his culinary delights on your next vist!

All the girls we have are a good bunch and do not make negative comments to any of our guests let alone the bar girls they bring back! If they do they start looking for a new job!

We have never had a problem in this area as we are a Hotel, not just a Beer Bar, many of our residents will take a girl from our bar(as we have some crackers now) then the next night go walking street and bring a lady back from there!

I have just finished a stay of just over 3 weeks at the Irish Rovers and am now home again :cry , i had an absolutly fkin great time at the Rovers. The rooms were spotlessly clean and i mean spotless...well when i managed to get out of bed on time to let the maid in (thats all night drinking for ya).....

 

When i fist arrived i was greeted by Ian (the guy who has taken over from Pat...Pat was also in the bar) well Ian gave me great welcome, really nice genuinely helpfull guy, he became more of a friend than "the guy who is 1/2 owner of the Rovers", really is a top bloke.

The other owner i went drinking with is Dom, another top guy and he also became a friend, i had some good drinking sesh`s with the pair of them. From the invite to go on weekly pool league, bar crawls to the dark side/ bang chang and invites to go out drinking with them in local bars/gogo`s, it was just like going out with a bunch of mates...this is the kind of host`s they are...top people the pair of em.

 

The bar is a great place to meet new people aswell, Dom does a fine mix of tunes, a few people staying at the Rovers and myself stayed in the bar some night`s because it was a banging night...some really really fit as fk girls in the bar dancing on the pole.... and the uniforms they wear...fewwwww!!!!

 

The girls are a nice bunch, they never ever hassled me for drinks or other customers, but they were all nice....i would be sat there and just feel these hands massaging my shoulders...turn round and a sexy rovers girl is there smiling...but as i say they dont hassle you for drinks.

 

Alot of people would call in the rovers through the day/night for a few drinks and stay for a whole lot more, so it really is a great place to meet people.

 

I went with one of the girls from the bar on different occasions, i never had a problem bringing other girls back from the rovers girl i went with or any of the other girls in the bar.

 

 

Would i stay there again?....fkin right i would and will be, its a really friendly nice place, far better than the big hotel shit i stayed in before....would i recomend the place....just book it you wont regret it!!!

I have recently returned to the UK after staying at the Irish Rovers. I only have good things to say about the place. Ian and Dominic are very gracious hosts. Good location. Very friendly staff. Have booked again for January.
