I plan on taking a short trip to Phuket from Pattaya when I am there in March. Does anyone have a recommendation on an agent in Pattaya who can book a flight and hotel room in Phuket. I want to wait until I get there and book it as plans change plus I would rather pay cash than use credit cards online.

Also any recommendations for a hotel or resort in Phuket would be appreciated. Not looking hight price, between 2000 and 3000 baht at most.

Thanks for any help.

Someone told me once booked with an outfit practically across from the Areca Lodge on Soi Dianna

I am planning too spend a few nights elsewhere and would like feedback on this subject also.

Consider this a bump.

I am more inclined to 'do it myself' these days. The advantage is that you have flexibility, book via an agent, and you pay up front with no chance of a refund, and end up in the hotel with the best promotion, for the agent, not the customers.

Plenty of 'budget' flights to Phuket.

For hotels in Phuket I recommend in order

summer breeze hotel

orchid residence

lamai hotel

All can be found through google and are girl friendly and not expensive.

If a travel agent puts you into a tourist hotel, any female company will incur large joiners fees.

And Dr. Mick is right with his travel agent choice on LK.

I have use the travel shop just up from the Sportsman on Soi 13 going up to 2nd Road. For a long time it was a location for a laundry, but they enlarged it and turned it into a travel agent.

The name is 'EasyFly' and the website is www.321easyfly.com. The operate a full travel agent shop with airlines and hotel reservations through out Thailand.

Amy at All Season travel opposite Frienship supermarket South Pattaya Rd.

I recently tried their website for flights ex BKK, but the ones showing, were a year out of date -Jan 08 !

Sent them an e-mail, but no reply. They are supposed to be good, if you are there.

Travel agent next to Gregg's Kitchen did a good job for me. They issue airline tickets in their office. BTW Gregg's Kitchen prices are way over the top. Try Tropical Bert's across the street for good pub grub at a reasonable price.

Web sites in LOS aren't very good, they are not kept up to date. I think I used 'All Season's Travel' for a Singpore WOW Package to Bali last year. It was handled pretty well, and the trip went smoothly.

Massic Travel perhaps? They issued my tickets to Singapore fine... well printed them, they were E-Tickets. They have on-line booking. Or perhaps you mean 'Global', Qatar airlines agents, right next door to Greggs. There is a reasonable hotel/ guest house place near there isn't there? Edited by jacko

My mate tried the web site for me first. They had a BSA motorbike and a Hillman Minx for sale on it- you could be right. :D
