There is a little Russian place up that road opposite soi 1 on 2nd road. I went there with my girl one time and had a very nice meal. We started off with a Prawn cocktail on cabbage base without the Prawns. The main course was beetroot on a cabbage base and coarse dry bread made of flour. Dessert was cabbage and ice cream although they did not have any ice cream left. All this was washed down by lashings of cabbage water. Altogether a great night out.

I spent 6 months working in Russia a few years back and actually developed a liking for cabbage soup. It is an acquired taste, a bit like many other things we wonder how people can eat. The cuisine is a lot more varied than cabbage though. If you get the chance try Russian style roast pork stuffed with garlic and prunes. They eat a lot of fried chicken too but I think they kill the birds too early as they are usually very small. Or maybe it is the sub-species they breed over there, I don't know. You could easily manage to eat two whole ones in a sitting with some bread, and cabbage of course!

Russian food is actually very nice if done well, similar to other Eastern European foods and not that different to German either, yes it features plenty of cabbage and potatoes, also pickled foods and root vegetables like beetroots which is used in one of the most famous Russian dishes "Borsch".

Pork is popular and they eat the lot, stomachs, brains etc etc, not that other western country's don't but in Russia its far more popular.

Never tried it in LOS but it is a food for a cold climate so not really that suitable in the tropics, also by judging by the quality of other western foods in alot of places your probably not going to get a very high standard of Russian food in Pattaya.

I had a company lunch in a Russian restaurant in Islington called Lubas

That was the last time ever ate it, and see no reason to spend money on such fair in the future. I would rather dine at the Lebonese restaurant round the back of WS if I was forced into it.

Just look what their diet has done to the Russian, it has left many overweight and brain dead. :beer
