Even though I am due to fly next week I am looking for Xmas flights, I am looking around 16th Dec to 3rd Jan as need to be back for work.

At the moment prices usual stupid numbers but will they come down?

I booked this flight about 6 weeks ago with netflights and got a good deal with Eva LHR to BKK £404. I normally book Xmas flight early July but supply and demand and all that crap is it worth waiting??

They will not come down. Thats standard for Xmas time.

I suggest you arrange a extra few days of holiday and come around the 10th or so, and stay till the 5th or so. Play with the dates and you can find a much better deal, but only if your willing and able to stay a bit longer.

I'm not sure about the airfare costs, and oil does seem to be on the rise, so, who knows.

One thing I would do, however, it to make sure you have your hotel booked. The last time I was in Pattaya over the holidays I hadn't really booked anything in advance, and I had some trouble finding a reasonable place to stay. I finally got in at the Sabai Lodge, but only at an expensive price (1800 baht a night). So, it would probably pay to line up your room now.

I don't think you will get near that price above for the xmas period.

Looking at Kayak.co.uk the best is Etihad at £689 via Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Airways

LHR 09:20 BKK 07:05

BKK 20:20 LHR 06:45

Good flight times and a fair seat pitch in Economy.

Your dates are very near mine and i have booked Emirates for my first time with them, wanted three things

Fly on the A380, sit at the bar on an aeroplane and have a shower onboard, ticked all three :D

  • 2 weeks later...

I booked from december 20th to jan 3rd for £806 with Etihad, and wanted to change my return to the 10th and expedia wanted an extra £270, so i ask them to check the 9th, and they said it would be an extra £50 as i will be travelling in the same glass, so i book those dates. My advice wud be to book now as the flights will go up in price, I was talking to a BM and he said he paid £1400 for an xmas flight last year with Etihad, :eyecrazy
