Hi Everyone !

I'm new to this board. I already came to Pattaya and am planning a new week in November.

I'm searching for a nice place to stay (i've read some reviews but didn't manage to find something adequate with all my needs). What i fear with the reviews is that some are pretty old (2003-2004) , and things change in 5 years.

I'd like a place :

- no joiner

- budget 800-1300. I don't want something too cheap.

- Quiet

- Nice and big rooms (30-40 sqm would be nice . The bigger the better. )

- I like nice decoration and nice big (and firm) beds. I don't want the room to look old or deprecated (i visited lek hotel , Dianna Inn and Honey Inn for ex and didn't like them )

- And location near soï buakhow- Lk Metro - soï dianna Or between 2nd road and beach road (soï 9-13/2)

I have no motorcycle so i'd like some place where i can walk to a baht bus on 2'nd or beach road (5-10 minutes walk is ok )

I don't care : pool, wifi, breakfast

For ex : I stayed last sime at Baan Sila hotel soï 11 (999 a night),. It was perfect but the prices for high season are 1500 bahts a night which is too expensive.

Any advice or idea is much welcome.

Thank you very much

After some more search i have a first few choices :

Lk Metro :

Billabong, Metro apartments and RockHouse seem to have huge and nice rooms. i especially like Rockhouse deco (even if i would have put some Lemmy's posters in the room ! ) . These 3 seems hard to beat.

Soi Lengkee :

Opey de Place and Jp Court . smaller rooms but seems quieter

And closer to the beach Sandy Spring.

Some reviews welcome concerning the first choice.

Thank you very much !

If you stay at the RoadHouse, make sure to wear a helmet. Although, I have heard great things about the rooms.

Thank you for answers.

i agree sunview place is nice but long wlaking distance to catch bahts buses or come back walking from 2nd road.

A famous quote from Forest Fondles............

"Life is like a box of Heinekens, you never know when you are going to get hit."

Is there a story concerning this ?

has already a customer been beaten or hit in the bar ?

That sounds like a joke :D

Can anyone tell me what the "warn" sign is in my profile?

If it is at anything above 0% then you have been warned about something you posted.

The rules are pretty simple. Ignore the trolls and it's even easier. One has to work pretty hard to get a warning here.

Oh, and start a new thread if you have a question that is not related to the topic you are replying to.

LK Mansion is OK. I stayed there for a week in March. The rooms are pretty big. The bed was firm. IMHO, the room I stayed in could use a coat of paint and a bit of TLC. It was not bad though.

The website says 800 baht/night. I think I paid 900 as they said they only had a "better room" available. Nothing special about my room though. Next time I would stay at one of the places on LK Metro such as Armegeddon or Rockhouse, etc. I didn't stay at either one as they where booked, but I had a look earlier in the month and some nice rooms available at a fair price.

Can I sughgest that you look at perhaps 3 web sites and make some larger scale comparisons. These are mainly OK for hotels rather than rooming houses but they do have some good deals and I have never had an issue using Sawadee but others swear by Agoda or Asia Rooms.

thank you for advice;

I'm taking time.

The main choice is the same for the moment, even if u make the rockhouse pretty scary

I'll have a look on the sites

Nice try at the wind up seeing every post you mention the rubbish house now go and stay with the slob :D

I don't know what you mean .

i'm just searching for a nice place to stay and checking different possibilities ( and i appreciate answers and recent experiences in the different places)

My opinion isn't made yet. (i admit for the moment the Opey is a little favourite for price and location . no need motorcycle. I Fear Mansion is a bit far walking to 2nd road but that would be 2nd choice )

Maybe i talk about it because you tell things and i would like a bit of explanation (mps accepted). This is your fight, not mine. I will not chose a place or a judge guy idon't know from strange stories on a web site.

and I don't know what a slob is (sorry not native english so probably lack of vocabulary).

And it would be pleasure to share a beer (or 2 ) with helpful people here.

I usually stay at Sandy Springs hotel on Soi 13, i get a de-luxe room for 1600 baht, but prices start at 1200 baht.

For me it is ideal, it is in the centre of the one-way system with easy access to soi's 6,7,8 and walking street by baht bus.

Last time i left Pattaya in October there was a lot of flooding on second road but soi 13 was ok apart from the second road end, outside the hotel was dry.

I always stay in the deluxe room and agree with above. It is also very quiet at night, a big plus in Pattaya. The only downside is that the hotel charges 120 baht per hour for wi fi, so I go elsewhere for my internet needs.
