....If you have the secret to unlocking a 1000 baht per night room with a sea-view at Sandy Spring, please tell. I'm probably not the only one that'd like to know....

You won't get a sea view room at the Sandy Spring for 1,000 Baht, but you might get better than their rack rate by using this service:

Good luck.

If you have found all of that for 1300, it sounds like you already found a nice place. It seems hard to beat.

The OP starts out with a price of bt. 1700 as I read it. In the quote it shows bt. 1300. looks like the figures got messed up.

I can't believe my luck. Every year I'm more amazed at the "dance" of securing a reservation and locking down a decent room.

This is the e-mail from Sandy Spring. On their site the suite room is 2990 baht per night. If you have the secret to unlocking a 1000 baht per night room with a sea-view at Sandy Spring, please tell. I'm probably not the only one that'd like to know.

"Dear Sir,

Thank you for your e-mail. Our DLX/SP rooms are available on ---- but the

room is not seaview ( half of sea view at the balcony). If you would like

to that room is call Suite Seaview room.

Regards,

Ms. Nudee

I will be coming in mid ---- and would like to know if you have deluxe

> rooms available with balcony seaview. Please let me know.

> Thank you.

Cicero1520- Thanks again, can't get a response on the e-mail inquiry for BJ. Got one from Mr. BJ, but when I try to lock down the dates, nothing. You got a e-mail address that works? Also, if you can give me a few room #'s to request that would be great. Read your posts on other forums, thanks for the insights.

Mr.Bill2-August Suites is a bit outta my range, thanks anyways.

Ok, boys and girls, as my wheels up gets closer, here is the final rundown. I appreciate all feedback on quality and experiences. Thank you for the hotel trip experiences thus far. Tell me what you think of the choices.

1) Jasmine Hotel- Seaview top floor deluxe. Location. Location.

For first four days.

2) Dynasty Resort- Bungalow with short time longtime

when I meet her. This is versus the Koh Samet mid week

trip for snorkeling.

3) Residence Gardens vs. Pattaya Bay Resort. I got

reservations for both, but will cancel one or both as

mood and whim dictates.

Again, I am curious for your feedback, experiences. I have stayed at none of these, so your help here is much appreciated.

Ever looked at the Baboona? Seems to have everything but tub in bathroom and around 1300 for seaview if booked through agoda.

Just back from Patts and spent a week at Summer Spring in Soi 1. Great hotel, guest friendly and very friendly staff. Good roof top pool with view over Pattaya bay. Will definitely stay there again. Low season offer stay 7 nights pay for 6 - bargain.

Stayed LK Renaissance last Oct/Nov, paid 1500 from 15 Oct then 1700 from Nov, excellent hotel, Studio Room with jacuzzi, plently of fun times had in that bath, staff very pleasant, excellent location IMHO, stayed only Soi 8/7 before and love it there but this is my new fave hotel for the location, would stay again without a doubt.

Did you feel that being on Soi 1 was "out of the way" or was it easy to get around. Was it easy to get a BB back to the hotel late at night from WS or wherever?

Summer Spring is great hotel but as you say it is quite out of the way, the baht bus down to W/S would sometimes take an age. Coming back no prob with baht bus, bars on 2nd road at top just before Soi 1 open all hours. Hotel is walking distance from Big C so everything close at hand. Good thing is that although when coming back from 2nd road its a 100yd trek but its downhill and to get the baht bus on Beach Road is a 20 yard walk

When I booked I kept asking for full sea view not 1/2 sea 1/2 soi and when we arrived got 1/2 and 1/2. Didnt kick off but expressed my opions at front desk and next day moved to sea view.

This was last Xmas as rates were ok and not too much Xmas rip off (though 500bht surcharge Xmas to New Year) as I normally stay in the Mercure but on priciple wont pay for Gala nights on Xmas and New Year Eve. Howver on my May visit got a cracking deal at Mercure so stayed there.

I paid 1290 for a room with "city view" and got room 407. which looks out over the bay but being on floor 4 its mainly palm trees for a view.
