Got the missus coming over next month and she wants me to send her the money for a suitcase. Ok I am a bit of a tight wad so dont want to send out more than necessary.

Can anyone out there please find out the price for me of a decent sized suitcase. I know they have them outside the stalls on 2nd road. so if anyone could help i would be much obliged.

Off the top of my head, I'd say 2000 baht should do it.

I purchased a decent sized Rovera Case, easily fits 20kgs of shit in it and has done more than 25 long haul flights, cost me 1200b from made in Thailand 12 months ago, I also purchased a matching carry on sized case, it was 700b.

You need to clamp down on these selfish women. She saves up her Foodland bags and stitches them together into a carry-on or she doesn't travel. That's what I'd do, anyhow. Demanding a suitcase for one freaking plane ride? Get out of here!

Totally agree with you, but must be getting a bit soft in my old age.

Wow, you have a big head........ :D

I bought a large-sized bag a couple of years back for less than half that at a stall on 2nd road near soi 13. Prices can't have gone up that much.

I walk by those places that sell suitcases all the time, but I never really pay any attention. My first inclination was to say 1000 baht, but that seemed kind of cheap, so I said 2000 baht. Actually, for a good suitcase, even 2000 baht would be a good deal.

I've got some sort of a backpack on wheels with a detachable day pack that I bought in the states for $275. That's almost 9000 baht.

Agree, but you'll never find a real "good suitcase" in the stalls. Decent knockoffs, yes.

I agree with brotherbuzz. Decent knockoff is more then OK for the occasional traveler. I travel frequently and I found that out of all the various brands I've bought over the years Travelpro lasts the longest. My wife just bought a 32" Travelpro off the internet for $200USD including shipping. Good value for the buck.

1200b Suit case from made in Thailand on second road has survived 25+ long haul flights in the last 12* months, it is still in fantastic condition, not bad going for occassional traveller.
