Good in what? I assume they do what they are supposed to do within the budget. :D

Only flew with them once, and I remember the bloke who was sitting next to me, was farting in his sleep. :chogdee

If you're lucky though, he might join you since there's a stopover in Amsterdamned. :beer

Economy seats about average size on the 747-400 they use from AMS.

No personal TV, just screens around the cabin.

Normally on time from AMS as the aircraft arrives about 9am and departs 2.30pm.

Cabin crew are excellent, a mix of Thai and Taiwanese on the AMS-BKK-AMS flights.

I now use their discounted business class, which comes in around £1200 flying from Glasgow.

China Air bought the last 4 or 5 passenger versions made of the 747-400, and they have all the gadgets, but they

are usually used on the TPE-LAX-TPE route.

3 trips a year on China Airlines for the last 6 years, have only had the newer entertainment system twice from AMS.

I was chatting to the crew last trip, the newer cabins are planned for the AMS service but no firm dates.

Most of my trips over the last few years have been on CI and I've always enjoyed it. The food's been good, the service just as good, and the planes themselves quite comfortable. And if you want to spend the extra money, their biz class is probably the best value out there.

I used to think so when it cost me £500... :D

These days it seems to be around £1200 and is rather inferior to the competition....

Plus an economy class hop to Amsterdam..... I have taken to paying more and using Qatar in Biz which is very good.

Up until last year I always flew China Air for my BKK-Houston trips back home. Last year they discontinued this route so now I fly Korean Air. I flew business class and I always enjoyed flying on China Air, roomy cabins, great serviced, and the business lounge in Taipei was one of the best. I think that Korean is just as good but I can't fly to Houston without an additional stop so I do miss the China Air flights.
