Eastiny 7 is not bad for the price. Aint the best but ain't the worst. Breakfast buffet sucked IMHO.

Have only stayed in that area once so that is the only one I can comment on.

E7 is comfortable but the rooms overlooking soi 7 are incredibly noisy until the very wee hours.

I stayed on the Central road side and never heard a thing. For sure ask for a room on that side if you go to bed early.

Whats so unusaul about that , heaps easier to find a hotel room than a flight, the flight always the first thing i book.

I agree, have always had my flight booked way in advance of booking my hotel. How can you book hotel without knowing when your arrival and departure dates are.

I agree also, I initially made the mistake once of booking my accommodation first & had a hell of a job fitting in a flight to suit.

Luckily I was able to adjust my apartment booking by a few days and everything slotted into place.

Wont be making that mistake again.

cheers rogero :thumbup  :allright

Stayed in a few in this area, stayed in the Sunbeam, hotel is good but they had a joiner fee which was a pisser, also stayed in the Sunshine, the rooms in the newer wing are much better than the other side of the hotel, stayed Eastiny Seven last couple of years for a few days, hotel is ok but there are better if you are willing to move out that area, staying in the Eastiny Plaza this time around for the first 3 nights then gonna have a walk about and get a walk in price on somewhere better, got a great walk in deal in the rennaisance on Soi Diana last year, if we can get the same rates this year will go for that hotel again.

1500 Baht per night for a Studio Room, rooms were really nice and had the advantage of having a Jacuzzi bath.

Dates we were there were from 15th oct - 09th Nov 09

Have tried emailing them a few times to see if they can do the same rate but no response, i have noticed however that Skyscanner is advertising their rooms for £35 per night, Skyscanner is also advertising the LK Royal Suites for £25 a night so may try there.

Warning about Eastiny on soi 8. The older part of the hotel is cheaper, but as of a couple of years ago, was in bad shape. I spent one night there and could not sleep. Noise from the street, lack of insulation, AC that didn't work. At 5:30 in the morning, I took a walk down soi 8 to Beach Road, Soi 7, 2nd road and back down Soi 8. Counted 15 bars still open, playing music and punters still drinking. To the hotel's credit, they moved me to a much quieter room (away from the soi) where the AC was good.
