I just called them to check as my visa expires on the 31st and I need to extend it.

They are closed from the 31th of December until the 3rd of January.

I think I'll take a book to sit and wait. It will be busy next Thursday!

You can go a few days early...... I wouldn't recommend the 3rd! :thumbup Edited by jacko

I have to go before the end of the year so I have no choice.

I did once go 4 days early and was told I had to come back 1 or 2 days before expiration date. Then when I went back 2 days before due date I was told come back tomorrow. I politely but firmly told the reception that the officer I spoke with a few days earlier said it was ok and then the little brat gave me a ticket to get in line. I wasn't coming back again!

All in all the Jomtien office wrks really good in my experience.

Someone might wanna change the thread title as the 3rd is a public holiday and I highly doubt Immigration will be open.

Yes. Immigration won't be busy at all on Jan 3.

The title is misleading, if not actually wrong. So is the OP. Obviously other posters misunderstood as well. Technically, it is correct - government offices are closed from Dec 31 to Jan 3 INCLUSIVE - and reopen on Jan 4.

7 days before and 7 days after.
Well he said his visa expires and I thought that applied to the 90 day reporting. Edited by jacko

OP should go early, i.e. next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Yes. ALTHOUGH there probably will be no problem if he goes next week, he should go this week and make sure there is no problem.

I think he's on a 2 or 3 entry tourist visa. And his latest 60 day "admitted until" date is 31 Dec., so he wants to obtain an extension of stay for an additional 30 days.
