its a very expensive situation to deal with for anyone who gets involved as well. i know a chap whose son went tropo in Asia. he got a call one day that his son had tried to kill himself and was at a hospital.simple he thought so he payed hospital and went to pay for a flight home for the boy but if your mentally unstable you need two escorts on the plane in case you take a turn during the flight.and on and on it went. it cost him thousands to get his son home.

According to a post by Stickman on the Secrets board, the Immigration Police have today again taken the German guy into custody. I hope the German authorities have put pressure on their Thai counterparts to deport that poor soul so he gets the medical treatment he so desperately needs. If the German government can donate billions of euros so Greeks can continue to retire at age 60, it should be able to cough up a few thousand to help one of its own.

I haven't read any reports that he's been sighted since he was taken into custody the second time. That doesn't mean he hasn't been released, but so far, no indication that he has.

had something similar happen the other night in macdonalds the other night. A bunch of macho arab guys came in and walked up to the counter as my order was half made up then reached over and grabbed a handful of my fries. He was most appologetic when I jabbed him in the ribs and yelled at him. girl ened up throwing the order in the bin and making me a new one. Sorry back to the topic.

I haven't seen him around since October and hadn't read any reports about him until today. On another board, there was a post suggesting he might be in BKK now, in about the same shape as before, but it is unsure if it is the same guy.

 

Anyone know what really happened with him?

Many mental health disorders appear with mild effect early in adulthood and grow progressively worse to the point that without outside intervention they become exactly like this. Textbook case, so common across the homeless.

 

There are some quite idiotic suggestions about "Thailand" eating him up or maybe being a sponsor or barowner. I lost my closest internet friend to Bipolar, watching her go from a major California City government department head, running their whole computer information system to a nearly helpless person being cared for. We've lost touch now.

 

This is what mental illness does. It is not what going to Thailand does, or what being a bar owner does or being a sponsor or LDOP or cheap charley does. This girl I knew started her own homeless program, was the executive director for many years before the city hired her on - and she said most of the homeless have benefits they can get like food stamps or housing or rescue mission etc - but they're intent sleeping on the streets. They do not acknowledge the threat to their own health and safety or that of others because they're ill. Yes, some of them are found after intervention to be in posessions of fortunes or a house of their own or are quite intelligent otherwise from the fact they're flat-out batty.

And I have always wondered how Las Vegas stays in business with everybody always winning money at the tables :)
