I'm afraid so Joey. Even though it'll be busy, you will still have a great time and the weather, although hot, will be a little more bearable.

Most of the hotels have a tendency to raise their prices during high season and are often at near full capacity. It would be advisable to book early to avoid disappointment.

Have a great holiday... ;D

I was in Pattaya last year in late january - It was not particularly busy, although far more so than in May or September when I returned. There was plenty of accomodation at the less popular hotels.

Having said all of this I agree with the last post - better to make a reservation for the first few nights at least. You dont want to be walking around looking for somewhere to stay after a long trip.

I was in Pattaya mid January, I didn't think it was all that busy.  I'm not exactly sure when the high season ends, I assume when Songkran starts in April and the farangs are turned off by the event.

cheers

The season gets quiet for a week or two in Mid January before it gets busy again close to the Chinese new year from end of january to mid feb then it tails off again.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have never noticed a price change from one time of the year to another I go 3 times a year Jan, May or June and Sept or Oct.

But I do not pay attention really. I know the Airline tickets are always the same for me from the West coast between 625.00 to 700.00 and hotels I really never see a change Places where I stay run 1000/1500 year around I Know the RG prices are same for forum members all year round. I don't care when you go you can not have a bad time. But you may want to bring a extra Yankee baseball cap ;D ( ask Emil or JimmyBB )

high season is whenever jimmybb and the kid are in town, as inflation in thailand tends to rise by at least 10%. [smiley=1luvu.gif]

That is the only thing that does rise when those clowns are in Pattaya [smiley=AR15firing.gif]
