HI guys.

I am going to pattaya at the end of Jan.

I am wondering if anyone can reccommend a good hotel guesthouse near the Soi 6 i think it is. (where the action is).

Should i book ahead or just wing it when i get there?

I dont mind being a few minutes walk away from the happenign Soi's.

Am i right in assuming all the action is in soi 6. Or is it spread aroudn a bit?

Im looking at something under 1000 baht, guest friendly without a charge, with wifi, friendly atmoshphere, quiet at night, safe, a pool would be good?

Any advice at all?

Also, these hotels like metro and billabong that have chicks working in them. Are you allowed to bring chicks from outside the business or do they pressure you to use their chicks?

Also what should i be expecting to pay for a full night? ( a girl i mean)

any advice at all on any of the above or other subjects would be greatly appreciated.

Try Tropical Berts or The Queen Vic... see hotel reviews.

Although they may break your 1000 baht limit a little. No pools though.

Book ahead if you can.

Plenty of action on Soi 6 but close enough to other centres of entertainment. (Walking St, Soi LK Metro etc)

Places do not restrict you to their girls.

What to pay...haha plenty of threads on that.

So whats the deal with walking st. Is it an upper class kind of Soi 6.

Soi 6 is Walking Street without all the bullshit.

You get the same calibre of girls on soi 6 for half the price.

Tropical Bert's is a great guesthouse for @ 700/night but no swimming pool.

So whats the deal with walking st. Is it an upper class kind of Soi 6.

It is a crazy bustling centre comprising of restaurants, gogo bars, beer bars and discos. Very much a nightime place.

Soi 6 is more popular in the afternoons and early evenings and comprises of mostly short time places and some good bars and pubs.

Visit both....

There are plenty of good priced guess houses around the soi lk area.

Also try the Sabai Lodge (google them) email them to see what their best rate is.

Soi 6 is different to walking street the best thing to do is to explore it yourself.

Soi 6 is not close to the action, other than soi 6 action. Under 1000 baht, I would pick the Dream hotel just south of Pattaya Thai on 2nd road. Phone # 038-420771 If you are not a newbie, and they are not full, the guest houses on soi LK are good. They can be hard to get to, for a newbie, and usually full this time of year. The Swasdee chain has several places under 1000, they are decent, and the swasdee sea view was my first Pattaya hotel. It was walking distance to most places that I went. I found something more to my liking a few days later. Check out Trip adviser.com or http://www.pattayacity.com/hotels/

Book now. Pattaya is in full high season and the popular places fill early. Tropical Bert's and the Queen Victoria guest houses are good places to stay. I eat at both of these places when I'm in Pattaya and they serve good pub grub. I stay at the Sky-Top guest house. It's located on 2nd Road about 50 meters from Soi 6. Sky-Top is clean, well run guest house owned and run by a Thai women named Wan. Offers AC, in room safe, cable TV and wired internet. One of the many reasons I like Sky-Top it's on a major baht bus route and it's easy to get back 24/7. One block from Beach Road. Check out the Halifax Bar on Soi 6. Fun place with good looking BG when I was there last March. There is a range of prices one can pay the BG. I paid 700 ST & 1K LT for beer bar BG.

Queen Vic and Tropical Bert's are probably the best places to stay if you want to be on Soi 6 - but another good place to stay is Soi LK where there is also plenty of fun to be had.

Only Bigmick would think I was being serious. Living in a mud hut in the jungles of Ghana must be getting to him.

It beats living in the slums of AC
