Philippines? Angeles is similar to Walking Street of the early 90's. Del Pilar and P Burgos a shadow of their former selves, hardly worth a visit, and if the new PM has his way, they'll be redeveloped anyway.

 

However, local knowledge goes a long way and there's some cracking bars around Mabini, Cavite, Bacoor, Laguna & Ayala, but well off the tourist route and unless you live here, they'll not be easy to find.

Club Electric Blue was one of my favorites back then, especially the Beaver Bar.

I'm not sure what I was thinking in 1988, but at the time it wasn't Pattaya. My loss. I guess I didn't hear about the place until the late 1990s.
