Emirates cancelling flights ex Manchester EK21/22

Recommended Posts

I would guess the main reason being recession cutting back on British people travelling..... rather than the competition (Qatar and Etihad) taking a bigger share?

There might be operational reasons for the cancellations....

Just been pricing flights for mid June and Emirates is coming up the most expensive between Emirates, Etihad and Qatar for the dates I was looking at.

Emirates have been coming up more expensive than Etihad and Qatar for a while now (over a month at least) ex-Manchester. Etihad been consistently cheapest during that period.

Seems strange Emirates cancelling the morning flight after announcing that they will be putting the 777 on that flight in the autumn. Maybe these cancellations will only last for a very quiet period in May.

With less than 150 passengers on EK21/22 today gives an indication of the low yields hence the cancellations in May.

Just booked to fly out on EK22/EK374 next month...... We only have to suffer the sardine can 777 on the DXB-BKK leg...... Coming back it's A380 both legs!!!

I always pre-book seats and on the DXB-MAN leg of the return flight there was hardly any blocks of 3 seats left for the date we fly back.

There might be functional factors for the cancellations.

Just been costs routes for mid May and Emirates is arriving up the most costly between Emirates, Etihad and Qatar for the times I was looking at.

Along those lines,on my World Airways 707 charter from OAK to Okinawa in 1971,I was seated in a middle seat between a young mother holding a baby and a CIGAR SMOKER!

I'm used to filled aircraft. It's screaming babies I can't stand...
