The Olympics - Any predictions?

With only two weeks to go before the big event, I must admit that living in Thailand has left me a bit clueless (or my age is catching up on me) on who to look out for. So, I'll stick to Thailand and predict that taekwondo bird, Rangsiya Nisaisom, is the nation's best bet for a medal.

Competition time ...

 

Just to set the ball rolling, a little competition for you. There are twelve pics of Olympic gold-medal winning athletes from 1964 through to 2008 inclusive in no particular order. They are followed by the Olympic years and corresponding clues. Simple task to then name the athletes and match them to the correct clue/year years. (List your answers in chronological order). For example:

 

1964 - Mary Rand

1968 - Bob Beamon etc, etc. First all-correct answer wins a dozen 'greenies'.

the old bird is Dawn Fraser a true Aussie legend - she won gold three in a row so i will say your referring to 64

 

The second pic is sergi Bugadi?(sp) the pole vaulter.

The perfect ten is Nadia Coma(chia) or whatever he name is but not sure whether is the mid forties girl in white or black

I predict that Usain Bolt will again win gold .whether that will be 1 ,2 or 3 golds is still in the lap of the gods but he will win gold.

Prediction: USA wins the basketball tournament... :-)

I can safely predict that Americans are more concerned about where the US teams uniforms are made than anything the US team actually accomplishes. Also any wins by the US team will not make it farther than the sports page of any major newspaper.

I sadly predict there will be a terrorist incident, hopefully not as severe as the 1972 massacre of the Israelis, but having the Olympics during Ramadan just breeds too many cockroaches and dumbasses looking to be martyrs for their 72 virgins.

I was thinking it very inconsiderate to have Ramadan during the Olympics.... .... many British hopefuls will not be physically up to it.

We will enjoy the fab 2 hours of the opening ceremony. Us Brits will feel justifiably proud of our heritage and our quirkiness.
