Europe - victims of a terrible decision that completely changed and influenced the the game against Real Madrid because up until the sending off they were the better side and looked like they were going through. If that was a sending off then why didn't Benzema get sent off in their last Champions League game? Exactly the same sort of challenge but no card. Shit happens - despite what the anti-United brigade think they very often have bad decisions go against them. Deal with it and wait until next season, one of the good things about being a United fan is you know they'll be back in the Champions League next year looking to win it.

FA Cup - another season where Fergie has picked the wrong team in an FA Cup game in the latter stages of the competition which has cost them the tie. There was no reason at all to pick anything other than a full strength side as the league is virtually wrapped up and no need to rest players. I am convinced that Fergie isn't bothered about winning the FA Cup again, that is not the first time he has picked under strength sides when there is no need to, he did it against City a couple of seasons ago and he did it against Everton in the semi-final a few years back. As a United fan I am very disappointed they didn't win the FA Cup this season, it seems a long time since I witnessed them win it in 2004. United are the most successful FA Cup team in history and to go ten years without winning it isn't good enough in my opinion.

Gimme a break, lol.

Fergie not wanting to win the FA Cup and do another Double this Season?

What you on?

So why doesn't he start with his best team against quality opposition in the FA Cup?

Are you insinuating that the league could in some way be fixed?

Are you insinuating that all the sides field the strongest team and play to the best of their ability every game?

And that there has NEVER been any doubt....... There is just too much gambling money around.

No but that doesn't mean to say that there is match fixing going on. It's much harder than you think for one player to be able to influence the outcome of a game. Maybe if a few were involved but I can't see that. I'm not saying it isn't a possibility though.

Hi,

Mick McCarthy used to go to Old Trafford with his hands above his head for one.

Hi,

Just seen Khun Aquero's goal last night. Great goal. My fav player in the Premiership. Suarez, RVP and Bale are good too.

Hi,

The game of the weekend for me is Newcastle v Sunderland. Both are in danger of going down so it should be a cracker. Newcastle have been hit hard with injuries this season which explains their plight. Having played Thursday night Newcastle are at a disadvantage but it should be a good game. I prefer Di Canio to Pardew but there should be interesting interaction. :D

I like Newcastle and Pardew ... if they do go down, it'll be interesting to see what players like Yohan Cabaye, Tiote and Ben Arfa decide to do.

Hi,

Memo to MM:

Newcastle are in danger of going down, but I don't think they will. Sorted.

I knew exactly what you meant. :thumbup

Of course, we all did. It's too crowded at the bottom for Newcastle to break into the bottom three. That's why I doubt they are in danger of relegation.

I'd say Newcastle will probably go "safe" with a win tomorrow. I wonder how many of their supporters will be hit with the "threatened ban" for giving Di Canio his Fascist salute back as has been promised ? Probably just as well that the silly idea of a minutes silence for Thatcher's death wasn't taken up; that would have certainly been the cue for a rousing chorus of "Ding dong the witch is dead" in those parts! :moon FWIW I reckon the final relegation spot will be between Stoke and Sunderland, on the assumption that the totally unpredictable Wigan do their customary Houdini act. Stoke and the loathsome Pulis would not be much missed by this punter ! :yikes:

Hi,

Sunderland beat Newcastle in a close game. Two offside decisions went against Newcastle which lost them a good goal and gave another, offside one, to Sunderland. Stoke should play better football with the budgets that are available to the managers in the Premier League.

Hi,

Well done to Cardiff City for getting to the Premier League. Two good Welsh teams and if we add Celtic and Rangers the League would be stronger still. British Premier League anyone ? Arsenal and Everton fight out a draw in a decent game. Moyes team are hard to beat at any time.

Did you not realise that Rangers are now playing in the Scottish Third Division? Even when they make it back to the top tier of Scottish football which is inevitable, do you honestly believe that the Premiership would be stronger if Celtic and Rangers competed in it?

Hi,

Both clubs have massive Worldwide support. I think they would both be great additions to the League. It would take a few years of Premier money to get them up to the level of the top 4 but I'm confident they would get there.

I too thought the EPL would benefit from having the best of Scotland in there, instead of the lower order English sides that struggle.

Hi,

Wigan is a rugby town. QPR are in an area of London where the multiculti population have little interest in the team.Reading is hardly a hotspot for support either. These are just 3 I can think of straight away. Those fanatical Old Firm supporters would be a boost no doubt.

So promotion to the Premiership should be based on the level of support a club has and not results? Ultimately the quality of the football is the most important thing in the Premiership, not the quality or passion of the fans. I don't think that Celtic or Rangers (when they inevitably get back to where they belong) would challenge for the Premiership title if they joined the league but I think that they would both definitely be in the top half of the league. Let's face it, the Scottish Premier League has to be one of the most pointless top flight leagues in Europe, no one has won it other than Celtic or Rangers for nearly thirty years and if you took those two out of it then it would make Scottish football more interesting again. Exactly what is your point with regard to certain Premiership teams and their lack of support? They have the right to be there if they have been promoted to it. Are you just talking shit yet again in this thread?
