Murder AGogo by Stephen Leather.

The long awaited follow up to 1996’s legendary “Private Dancer”

COMING IN 2013

Its the year of the snake and a high ranking Police Chief is found murdered inside one of Pattaya’s most notorious gogo bars, leaving the city in uproar.

Suspicion soon falls on the farang owners of a collection sleazy gogo bars on a small soi off Walking Street. They all have a shady past, something to hide and a clear motive for the crime. But each of them also has a water tight alibi.

When the son of a local politician also turns up dead in another gogo, the Thai authorities swarm the city with cops, shuting down all gogos, bars and nightclubs.

With the city economy in tatters and thousands of unemployed dancers roaming the streets, it’s up to legendary bar manager and part time private eye “Tricky Ricky” together with a silicon enhanced, multi-tattooed, former bar girl to unravel the mystery and save the day before the city of sleazy erupts into chaos......

Sounds terribly contrived. I hope you're joking. :P

I saw the Bond film last night, I am thinking terribly contrived (emphasis on terribly) is a requirement for a blockbuster.

But since its on his blog and he mentions Tricky Ricky as the hero, I think it will get published

The Ricky associated with the gogo business is anything but "tricky". Poetic license at work here.

Perhaps "Rickety Ricky" or "Prickly Ricky" would be more apt :P

In writing this trailer for his latest book, I feel Mr Leather doth have his tongue firmly planted in his cheek.

I would be surprised if the literary world was waiting with baited breath. However, let's wish him well.

After the Farang is taken out, the book should be about 1 page long. :bhappy

I do not think Leather is trying to supplant Hemingway or Thoreau from their place in the world of the written word but it sounds like an interesting read on a long airplane ride.

Some how I am thinking there are multiple ladyboys in this story and one will definitely turn out to be the killer.....either that or a Russian ladyboy.

Can't say I've every see a Russian ladyboy, a few european though, if banging bills wife is anything to go by I think you might be right, as for dodgy bar owners down soi 15. I think there might be a little bit of truth in that, but thinking about it, that might go for any farang owned bars in Pattaya
