It's often reported on this forum that the FX rates on offer at Thailand's Airports are lower than those offered elsewhere in the country. I use Kasikorn and had never really noticed much of a difference, if any (it's difficult to know what rates are on offer in town at the exact same time as I'm changing cash or TCs at the Airport). I was in my local Kasikorn yesterday and during my conversation with a very helpful young lass, I mentioned the oft-reported difference. She was adamant that the rates at all branches were exactly the same and showed me a poster to confirm what she claimed. So, it appears you can change your money at the airport without the worry that you'll be losing out by 3 satangs on the exchange rate (at least at the Kasikorn booth).

The only kiosks I see on my arrival are SCB and they give significantly worse rates than what I can get in Pattaya, including at SCB in Pattaya.

If Kbank's claims are true, it's good news, because their rates are certainly competitive in P-titty.

generally airports rates are a gross ripp off worldwide. They could corner the market with xchange normalization.

I exchanged some cash at the airport (Siam Commercial bank) so I had enough to pay for my taxi and and got 42.46 baht to the pound. Later the same day I went to an exchange booth just up from Cherry bar and got 44.75!

Not one bank at the airport has the same exchange rate as a branch anywhere in Thailand.

I make a stop at the kiosk just past customs for enough to pay the cab to pattaya and get checked into the hotel.

When did you last use the Kasikorn booth at BKK?

I always make sure i leave Los with some Baht ready for my next trip to avoid changing at the airport upon my return. If i stay in Bangkok i change cash at Vasu exchange or Superrich which both have the best rates for cash

In Pattaya the F/Ex booths are the best for cash, they seem to be multiplying everywhere these past few years. For T/C's at the Bank exchange booths YMMV but here's a handy link

Kasikorn is my preferred Thai bank for strictly banking.

The company does not have a branch in Bangkok International Airport.

Most other banks do and I learned that when I needed to make a deposit before my departure.

For currency exchange Kasikorn has reasonable rates, but certainly not the best.

Unfortunately, the Bank believes otherwise ...

Yup, you need to go down to basement level and there it is backing onto the coffee shop / 7/11 etc facing the travellators down to the Trains

What do you mean unfortunately?

It should be welcome new for any of their customers, including me.

I believe it was more than one year ago since I inquired, so obviously things change.

Given the apparent location it is no wonder I have not seen it on later departures.
