*Warning*

This is not your typical mongering place and due to my short stay, I forgot to get information like being girl friendly or not so if you have such information, do share please.

I had 3 days off at the end of Ramadan and decided to see my daughter. Since it was only two nights, I figured money's no subject so I went a bit out of my usual range by booking in a 5 star hotel. Mind you, Pattaya hotels are relatively cheaper, also had a pretty good deal through agoda - I paid $120 brutto for a corner unit on the 23rd floor with a 270 degrees panorama. The room itself is huge and very nice, the hotel new and tastefully designed. Has two pools, the larger one at the entrance, the other is right by the beach both with bar. Has a restaurant, a bakery/ patisserie and a nightclub on the 24th floor. The hotel is right on the beach - has its own beach, which was also a crucial factor in making the decision plus is away from all the craziness yet relatively close to it. It's in North Pattaya(Naklua), A few minutes walk from the dolphin roundabout where the bahtbus goes from Second to Beach Road also close to Big C.

If you have any experience with this hotel you may want to share, I encourage you to do so.

What a lovely looking place, and as you say, for a short few days, what the hell the expense!

I guess the restriction on the number of floors that can be built close to the beach has been waved.

For that price they should include Blue Label with the shampoo and hand cream!

Whats the quality of the beach water there? Is there garbage floating around?

There was no trash whatsoever and the water seemed to be clean but we used the upper pool mostly.

Pretty sleek, Jacko! A $200 scotch when you book a $120 room :D

Dunno, if you show me a 5 star hotel under that price, I'll consider. To me paying 120 for a room that normally goes for 260 is a deal. Their room prices are between 220-440 (low season) and just looked, they're booked solid with no available rooms for this coming week. Hilton is 220 up with no beach, and Dusit is a bit lower but wasn't when I made the booking. Either way, I won't sweat it for only 2 days. And when I think that I paid this price in Singapore for a room the size of a matchbox in Chinatown...

She needs a haircut Baz.

Nice looking place, beyond my pay scale though.

I would be interested to know what the bakery was like. Also if the night club actually had any club bets in it at any time??

You got a bargain, great value for money. Your daughter looks lovely. When she's a few years older, you might want to think about the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort in Naklua. It has a waterpark and many acitivies for kids. The five-year-old daughter of a former TGF cried when we checked out, she never wanted to leave.

Well, TBH the bakery was nothing to shout about in comparison to an average French patisserie. Don't get me wrong, they have nice things but at 5 star prices, and since the traffic is low, everything is pretty stale. We just had a few snacks from there and ate outside.

Much to my regret, I didn't check out the night club but some Thai guys complained in the elevator that it's expensive as hell.

Thanks for the tip Evil, but please don't tell her about it just yet :D

Poor baby lives in the slums and happy with just about anything I take her to.
