A shameful performance to be sure, although one has to admire they way Oz came to the series.

They should have to pay their own airfares and fly back Qantas,economy, that will teach them!

It was on offer on Astro Box Office Sport at 110 Baht for the series. Thankfully, I declined.

I have paid for my cousin to make the tour this time, ("Barmy Army" veteran who has suffered recently from UK government policy) who has traditionally saved all of his earnings to pay for these jaunts; and so know of the pretty enormous costs following this sport. It is not the fact that England are losing the Ashes (Alledgedly the majority of more knowledgable fans expected to lose a tight series), it is the manner of the losses.

Qantas does nor deserve any favours. They have been sacking a lot of their workers for quite some time and gave their jobs to cheap labour countries in Asia.

 

I am pissd off with the English press coming down hard on the Engish cricket players, especially the top order batsmen. All of their playrs are still wotld class cricketers by any standard. Things did not go their way in this series and the Engish pess helped to demoralize them even more.

 

The Aussies had a lean time after Mc Grath, Warnie and the two Whaugh brothers retired. The Australian people and their media always helped, as they knew the team would rebuild and come good again after so many losses. Your Boycott was nor half as good as a player as your top order batsmen now and should keep his bloody mouth shut. I remember him as one of the most boring openers I have ever seen.

Boycott made one century for England. The rest he made for himself. They had to send Botham in to run him out to try and win a game. To his credit though he had Lillian Thomson and the Windies pace attack to handle. But he he is amusing to listen to.

What goes around comes around. Seems that we have been waiting for the come around for quite a while.

 

Cook just hasn't been up top it and has copped t on all fronts. The last Captain Cook that graced our shores stopped in Hawaii and was killed by natives. I wonder If this captain will make it home.

 

There is always the one dayers to look forward to. Quite a few young pommies are making a name for themselves in the Big Bash.Hales, Wright, Morgan., to name a few. Maybe that series will be worth watching. Do the English have a different captain for the one dayers?
