"One More?" beer and sports bar.

Recommended Posts

Dear Pattaya Talk.

I'm happy to announce we have now secured 2 bars in the Made in Thailand beer bar complex (R Con complex). At the top, just off Soi Baukhao.

The bars make up the two large centre bars in the complex. will be called 'One More' beer bar. The other is being completely demolished to make a large area for quality pool tables and darts. Plus seating for eating and drinking while watching the pool.

Building work is underway at this moment and hopefully a couple of weeks or earlier should see completion.
We will sell Thai beers and foreign beers. Cider etc. Of course there will be Ladies and beer promotions.

Pool and darts league members will be sought with special beer deals for the team members.

The complex itself needs a 'boost' and hopefully the opening of these centrepiece bars will give it just that.

Nothing ventured, Nothing gained. Cheers.

I used to spend a lot of time in that complex.

It does need a shot in the arm. Good luck and get lots of fans (the kind that move air and the other kind too).

There's a big dog about 4 bars in from the street on the south side named Sam..he's pretty old now, but if he's still alive, I'll be dropping off some meat for him. This dog had a very real and useful talent. Whenever a Thai vendor would approach the bar with his or her goods, the dog would bark at them and chase them off. I loved that dog, and never got hassled while I was in that bar...well, not by the Thai vendors, at least.

He's probably dead or moved on like most of the people I once knew there.

Good luck with the venture. Last time I visited the complex there was a couple of parties going on and some very boisterous farangs. Returned the following night and it was like a ghost town. The place definitely needs a shot in the arm.

Richard, have you ever thought about making a deal with the toilet concession to avoid your customers having to find a 5 baht coin to use the bathrooms? :P

Actually, on that subject, the bar I went to had some sort of a deal where their customers could use the heads for free...they had paper tickets that you could ask for and hand to the toilet lady.

It's not a new or novel concept, in spite of what some might think elsewhere on the net.

Following on from MM's comment. I wonder what sort of USP (Unique Selling Proposition) you can come up with in order to keep people coming back. The only reason that I populate beer bars is because of some special reason and like many I keep returning over the years. I rarely go to other than the Cherry Bar because over the years Adam and the team have constantly found ways to make the experience worth while.

In a town with a thousand bars it takes some work. If all that is on offer is the same as everywhere else there really is little reason to go or to return. Please don't feel that I am being hard on you--I am trying to be helpful and its interesting to walk around the town and see the crowded bars and the empty one and work out, why?

That's fair enough. And why we are joining Every pool league in Pattaya we possibly can. And why we plan to sell Ciders and Foreign beers. Why we plan a hppy hour when no other bar in the complex does one. And why we will probably put a Chinese curry stand in spare space to catch the late night munchers.

Nothing's guaranteed here. I know that. But we can only try to make customers want to come back. And back.

Pardon my ignorance (and horrific geographical skills), I take it the complex is the old "Made in Thailand" market on Second Rd, and your Bar is situated at the Soi Bukhao end?. The reason I ask is because I didn't actually think it went all the way through to Soi Bukhao from Second road (We only went to a couple of bars in there last year, both relatively close to Second road side). Apologies for sounding a bit of a doofus, for some reason I thought the complex occupied the same floor area as the old "Made in Thailand" market area did which sold all the clothes, football shirts and bags etc.

Anyway, Chinese curry sounds a good idea, be good to see some staff pics when you get up and running. Keeping up with, let alone ahead of the game in Pattaya is no mean feat, so best of luck.

Here's a link to Google Street View of the location. The bar is located behind the line of bars facing the street.

You make an interesting point about the food. I would visit the Triangle Bar when they had the little snack bar attached. I enjoy a snack with a few beers before heading off into the night and this suited me fine. When the food side closed I simply found a new place. As a side issue to this because it is in the same area I enjoyed the daily 99 baht snack at The Booze Lounge. Its just enough to keep me relatively sober but not enough to stop me drinking.

It's actually the R-Con bar complex but it's only metres or yards from the Made In Thailand complex. On the same Soi and yes you can walk from second road to Soi Baukhao on that Soi. R-Con also have a hotel and a bar on Soi Baukhao so it could get confusing, anyone asking for the R-Con bars. The girls that work in these bars refer to it as Made In Thailand.

It's taking shape. Tiling should be completed today, once they resolve and bury a water mains supply from the demolished bar.

It was looking good last night. Completion is near. I'll post more pics soon.

The opening party for the "One More?" beer bar is on Tuesday the 30th at 8pm.

There will be Karaoke and food supplied by
Wok N Rok.

We will be doing a deal on the ciders and hopefully will have Fosters on Draught installed by that date.

All very welcome.

Fosters eh? That just put me right off. We export Fosters so we only keep the (mainly) good beers here in Aust., and give England the shit stuff.

You all sip wine over there don't you?

People call their Blue cattle dogs Fosters because it taste like dogs piss or it is refer to as like making love in a canoe.

Okay, I'm just having a heck of a time figuring out where this place is.

I turned right off second road to go up the alley that runs along Made In Thailand beer bar area...got to the end of the bar area and bore left to the road that goes to Kasikorn on Soi Buakhao..had I passed it by this time?

Then, after a spell, there are some bars that are behind Kasikorn, and I didn't stop to look to the far side away from the small eastbound soi, but I didn't see any One More sign as I drove by.

I believe you said it was across from RCon? But Rcon is well down Soi Buakhao from the Kasikorn bank.

So, here is the streetview for the bars closest to Kasikorn bank http://goo.gl/uw8qUa ... no idea what they are called.

and here is the streetview for what I have always called Made In Thailand bar complex http://goo.gl/I6MLqQ

Is your new bar in either of those areas? If so, which one?

force, once again, you are Johnny On the Spot with your mapping.

Now, WokNRok can ignore my just prior post because, if you are correct, it's the bars just behind Kasikorn Bank.

Just a note to WnR...do they really call that bar area Made In Thailand, because it's quite separate from the well-known Made in Thailand complex?
