I see on the Thai airlines page they are adding an extra flight from October from London to Bangkok.

Oh really?

Yes they are running a B777 on the route.

I sincerely hope they are not using the same seat spacing as BA are doing. BA's 777 flights to Bangkok are little less that torture and they should realy be stopped from using flights with that seat spacing for Long Haul flights.

I just hope Thai arent going the same route with their seat spacing. You cant fool all of the people all of the time.

The aircraft may be the same, but different airlines always have different seat arrangements. BA have always been pretty awful in "cattle class", no matter which aircraft they use.

Are the "emergency exit row" seats with the huge leg room bookable without paying a surcharge? Just had a look at Seatguru for the A380 and would like one for next trip but my booking site doesn't offer these seats as an option.

Sometimes they want to be sure you are physically capable of operating the door!

Budget carriers certainly charge for them.

Years ago I could get them on KLM... upstairs on the 747, great seat although you couldn't reach your menu in the seatback in front.

Got into the exit row on China Airlines this week by being at the check-in counter almost as soon as it opened and asking. I did appreciate the leg room but you give up a couple inches of male spread because the tray tables are in the arm rests. Also you video screen is on a fold away arm. Overall, still probably worth it, but things to consider.

Book Biz or First and you are up there!

For the 777 flight, Thai airways uk web site states the aircraft is a Boeing 777-300ER, when you look at SeatGuru it shows 306 economy seats with a 32" pitch and 18" wide. I don't know if this type of aircraft goes u/s in Bangkok if one of the other variants would be used.

It can be worth it actually.

Or a special treat.

No Thanks. Im not paying those fares. When I ran a travel business I got free Business class or free upgrades and I never ever thought that the extra that people paid for Business was worth what you got. Then again most of those travelling didnt pay for their tickets so didnt care. I'd rather go economy and save that money for a better use :)
