Has anyone been into the follow terminals Incheon Intl airport Korea(ICN) and Pu Dong China Airport (PVG) My next trip to the states I have to go thru these two

terminals. I'm interested in what items are for sale there and if there's any good deals to buy things there.

Seoul Incheon is a shopping mall. Unfortunately, I'm not into buying things in airports so I can't help that much. Did seem to be a good selection of cameras and other small electronics.

Might be an interesting topic to inform people as to where cheap stuff can be bought at airports.

Bangkok isn't bad but of course bottles of booze can be problematic if you have another connection. I always buy tobacco going out of Bangkok, and actually buy a bottle of something when I come in. I don't really think there are many real bargains in the airports, if anything items are way overpriced and the 'duty' saved is taken up by mark-up. I looked at tobacco and perfume ex-Manchester and decided to pass. I bought a bottle of Drambuie in Dubai as they don't have it in BKK and it was more expensive than in Asda..... didn't realize until it came through on my CC bill.

  • 4 weeks later...

Last time in Pattaya a bottle of Sam Song was about 275 baht. At swampy the same bottle was 340 baht, so called duty free. As I see it, because there is only one duty free operator more of what I see is a rip off. If you want a bottle of booze while in Pattaya I suggest you go to the place across the road from the old Topps market, corner of Second Road and Klang. Prices here are very good and save you the hassle of hauling your booze around.

Similarly the booze shop attached to Best Supermarket at the NE corner Dolphin roundabout.

I bought a litre bottle last time I passed through Dubai and put it on my UK credit card. When the total came through I was shocked as it was about the same as what 2 pint bottles in the UK supermarket. Anyone passing through Swampy should make a note of King Power prices and I will compare to local shop prices.

Interestingly both those shops are branches of Best, the one at Dolphin roundabout is the main one. There is (or was) a smaller Best just up from Walking St towards Tucom. For the smokers they have good prices on tobacco products too.

The best thing I ever bought at an airport was my IDP at the Post Office at Departure on Terminal 3 Heathrow...Many moons ago it was underground between 2 and 3.

You just turn up with a photo, fill the form and they issue it there and then. Do it after you've checked in but before you go into immigration...Brilliant ...Untill BA moved all their flights out to T5..

But in August I shall be flying Emirates and will get one one the way back....
