Heathrow climate change - protest disruption

Recommended Posts

Well, it seems the middle class elite champagne socialists have called off targetting and disrupting the entire schedule of LHR, possibly on threat of getting punished, and not let off with a gentle slap on the wrist but perhaps something more severe like getting twatted with a baton and thrown in Scrubs for a week.

Stopping traffic in London is one thing, threatening to break into and getting onto an active Runway on an Airport and glueing yourself to a 777 is something else and *I think* might be treated by the not-so-lenient-anymore Authorities as a terrorist incident (which they seem keen to apply to anything which they whimsically wish to these days).

(Sorry about the left wing wanker guardian / standard  link)

Fine and dandy to protest, not fine and dandy to disrupt people going on a well earned break which they have probably saved hard for.

There is no doubt that the world climate is changing, as it always has over millions of years. What is hotly debated, and denied by a large body of scientists but propagated by others, is that man is responsible and can do something about it. I don't know, as science seems to have become a matter of opinion rather than demonstrable facts. But it's a global phenomenon, and any action we think will help has to be on an international level. GB has signed up to certain measures along with many other countries, and appears to be honouring its commitments in this respect. Others are certainly not, or not yet. And now a band of like-minded people who are convinced that we (in this case the UK) can do something but are not doing it fast enough have taken it into their heads to block city traffic and disrupt the Easter plans of thousands to make their point. They're doing it peacefully, and by law have to be released at once if removed/arrested, upon which they return to demonstrate. Police leave has been cancelled, and officers can do very little though they must be seething with anger. This is tantamount to mob rule, and is calculated to inconvenience as many ordinary people as possible, otherwise a huge but undisruptive rally in e.g. Hyde Park would have been sufficient to gain public and political attention, but not so much fun of course. I guess they're very proud of themselves. There are laws against obstructing public highways and behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace, but the kid-gloves are firmly on as usual, when very firm action would be fitting for these unreasonable people. Do we see Oklahomans and Texans disrupting life because another twister is on the way and the US government isn't doing something to stop it?

Totally agree. Climate change is happening, but it has been part of the cycle of the Earth since it got an atmosphere. The effect the UK has on the global climate in comparison to India, China, South America , Africa and Russia is miniscule, if anything at all.

Man does have an impact, but so does nature. Even if the whole of Europe and the USA make changes, if the rest of the world doesn't, then it is pointless. I find it ironic that the protesters hit the Shell building in London, yet Shell is one of the biggest investors in renewable energy sources and research, but the middle class environmental "warriors" fail to see or acknowledge that.

The Police in London have proven themselves once again to be totally ineffective. They have failed in stopping knife crime and now they can add this to their list of inadequate achievements. I would ask how the crusties managed to get a lorry and a plastic boat into an area where traffic is banned, and why at the first sign of the protestors refusing to move, they didn't crack open the riot gear and go and bust some skulls, because had it been a Brexit rally , that surely would have been the case.

I also see that thespian slag Emma thompson thoughtfully flew in from the USA on a 747 and went straight out to support the protestors...all we need now is her odious turd of a husband telling us all how wrong we are. Cunts.

I was thinking about this. These types of people are usually only in it because they have nothing better to do. There is little logic to their methods as it creates the very problems they are protesting against. Holding up traffic and everyone in London stopped with their engines running is hardly helping the environment. Even the bloody superglue they use is a pollutant. Stick their hands to a train door, rip it off or pour boiling water over it! Find out where they live and stop collecting their rubbish. Don't they all have jobs to go to and children to care for. It is also an incredible waste of resources and taxpayer money.

The UK is in a big enough mess with all the Brexit shit, for heavens sake protesting when Parliament is empty and disrupting shopping, transportation and The City does nothing except make other peoples lives difficult, those very people struggling to bring up their kids. Pollution is all about population, human beings are the source of all pollution, fuck off to China and India where there are too many of them.

Hi,

We have outsourced our pollution to China and India. Maybe Mankind has evolved as much as it can ? This is where you end up with young people who have a good education etc..being a bit disappointing.

Just had a long chat on Line with my 35 year-old daughter, who commutes into London every working day. She's disgusted and angry about what she refers to as 50% middle-aged schoolteacher types whom you might meet in the supermarket and 50% long-haired, unkempt or dreadlocked wasters such as you see latching on to any kind of civil unrest. She's particularly upset because she crosses Westminster Bridge each morning, a very beautiful bridge and a major London landmark. It's now closed to traffic by "protesters", which has been bad enough for people going to work, but she says commuters on foot have been abused, had stuff thrown at them and run a gauntlet of scum chanting "We own the bridge". It also stinks of rubbish and urine now. She's bloody furious, not likely to sympathise with this "cause" I think.

I disagreee.

All of the evidence I have seen is they ONLY have computer models that show that if we do nothing, it will be disastrous. The problem that the models have proven to be false, but they want to spend trillions of US$ a year based on their models.

40 years ago the models said we had global cooling, theni changed to global warming, now its changed to change.

Total bullshit

So can someone please answer a simple question, with a simple answer.

Is the snow and ice tied up now in glaciers and on mountains and the polar ice caps more or less or the same as 20 years ago?

I'd spray them all with piss, and sentence those that got arrested to conduct community service by cleaning up the mess they've made.

Yes that was my thought, bring in a truck of effluent and give them a good spray.

Then I thought tuft them over the bridge into the  Thames, they can have a chunk of tarmac or a car door super-glued to their hand at the same time too.

But another thought, anyone arrested and charged should have their benefits/ grants/ further education stopped. If you can't be a decent member of society, and rebel against it, you certainly don't deserve the benefits you derive from it. I mean, causing disturbance in the Capitol, terrible behavior, we aren't French for heaven's sake!
