  1. Was it also testosterone and alcohol based!
  2. Ahhh, some proper rain.... lovely.

  3. Yes I saw this offer in my Inbox today. Not familiar with Qatar beyond the airport, but is there anything to see or do there? I see it a bit like Bahrain, which I am very familiar with, and really see no reason to visit again unless flight routing force me. This as one of the conditions that will apply for Economy Class tickets.. Offer is valid for flights booked with Qatar Airways on qatarairways.com with Multi-city ticket booking. What does Multi-City ticket booking mean (surely all bookings involve more than one city)........? Qatar come up with some of the cheapest Economy flights from UK-BKK and I would be surprised they could chuck in a 4 star hotel too! Those Biz Class fares are also great deals.
  4. I gave it a go yesterday in the Thai afternoon for Channel 4, it was aggravating. Spells where it froze and restarted frequently. The sound track also went way out of sync a few times and seemed to be in a loop! Although ITV3 played well via Kodi-Add On 'ITV' Later Edit: That link (post #4) was now asking me to 'Register' which requires an email.......
  5. I rode through it both on Sunday and yesterday. Invalid bridge notwithstanding..... Tunnel is not open in either direction, traffic is still impeded by work in both directions. North bound flow, which had been moving well last week, was tailed back on a quiet Sunday, as where the traffic is pushed over to the left by closure of a right lane, some small works was impeding traffic on the left at exactly the same place... good one guys. nevertheless work was ongoing. It was again difficult to get across a few lanes of traffic to get onto the motorway flyover heading North. A stiff neck did not help! Soi Siam CC traffic lights, when working, may make that easier, as well as giving that option to get to the Railway line bypass Rd. I am guessing, when opened to much fanfare whenever, things will look rather wonderful to drivers. If only relative to the hell it has been for 3 years, rather than how bad it was before they broke ground with a shovel.
  6. It makes sense to ensure she has the financial capacity to see probate through, ie there is a will and she has some money available. She will need to engage a lawyer who can sort out the probate and get the court order to release bank accounts to her. One item that may help is a to find a lawyer with integrity, many lack it.
  7. And about where I spotted one of the jet ski scammers today, guiding a truck and few trailers towards the beach. Still going...?
  8. This place was recommended to me some years ago, and as you say he was very much in demand. I was given an appointment with him but it was unsuitable for me so I rejected it, was given another, and went on my way. It was only later I noticed it was with a different guy. As I had been very specific, I cancelled that and looked elsewhere.
  9. Was introduced to this but haven't used it much yet.
  10. I see http://www.watchfreeview.com/, who use FilmOn.com want $149 a year now. Most of the Add-Ons on my Kodi Player also use this source so they have gone away. That cost would obviously go on top of my ISP monthly charge, and you can add that to my VPN cost! (A VPN which sometimes does. and sometimes doesn't, work) And, if I do finds a way to watch some UK streamed TV it will almost certainly slow to a crawl on a Saturday night, as I found out last night as I couldn't watch Selby finish off Higgins after watching 32 prior frames! Spend more time searching for feeds and getting them to work recently.
  11. Gawd Elpus Danny Kaye
  12. Hell if I know.... no great football buff myself. I am waiting for the results of tonight's games in lower leagues! Don't see Moyes managing a Champions League winner though.... he will get a job. There is a shortage of managers and even the worst seem to be given a chance, take the millions £ and move on to pushing another side towards relegation.
  13. Cloudy and cooler for the moment, quite a relief.

  14. A good record at Everton, winning manager of the year 3 times and a Scottish heritage.
  15. Beats rocks, iron bars and large pieces of wood.
  16. Yes, but wandering into 1st Class to stretch your legs isn't generally an option on an economy ticket. If he felt unwell, he should have called cabin crew to evaluate where he sat.
  17. My UK credit card requires a verification if I use it online above a certain amount... a password. But some small payments can go through without. My Thai one requires a OTP sent to my phone. That seems more secure. Yes someone distracting by putting white paste on the face would work well, a shame such a fun event is marred.
  18. Well I got my wish, it rained. Yesterday I topped the pool off with City water.

  19. A Tale of Two Cities
  20. But not as an investment. More as a necessity. Like a vehicle perhaps. I have friends currently dancing with glee that their condos are now worth a lot more, as they bought them with £s brought in at 60+ baht, Can't sell them though, and of course live and expect to die in Thailand, so will not realize the gain in Sterling terms. I am off to the UK in a few months and am wondering what to shop for there to save money! I got a 40KG allowance!
  21. Slightly off topic but better here than anywhere else I can think of. As I waited at some lights yesterday I witnessed a scrap in a car waiting to turn right, the passenger window was down. A Thai guy, driver, punching a Thai woman passenger from appearances. Although she was putting up some spirited resistance. Shocked me how he was using fists. First thought, pull up and drag him out of his car, second thought, mind yer own and get on home! As I drove off I saw the car turn right then attempt to stop in the middle of the road !

  23. I think the motorway overpass made that idea difficult, although there seems to be some tunnel fixation. I drove through on the bike yesterday. Heading South you still have to pass Klang and go all the way to the next U-Turn. Coming off Klang to head North is straightforward and close to complete. I actually got on further North as I came down Soi Yume, and then the Soi Paniad Chang alley 7 (turn right at wet market/7-11.) As expected, on my little bike, dodgy getting across to the motorway (Hwy 7) ramp, although tunnel not open yet.
  24. Well the first and big decision is location! Personally when I first arrived in Thailand after retiring, I rented, and did a 'grand tour' of a few places and still ended up selecting the Pattaya area. Many will still tell you to rent. (If you live in it, fuck it or sail in it, rent). So there is your second big decision. Size, here is decision 3, I ended up choosing a house as I wanted more space and my wife has an aversion to little boxes in the sky with prison like corridors. I could not imagine living in 33sqm with a fridge buzzing in the same room as my bed! At the moment I would say property is far from being a good investment here, there is over-supply. One can hope gambling will be legalized and 99 year leases will appear but no guarantee! It is a buyers market assuredly. How much experience of Thailand and Pattaya area do you have?..... If you had a 2 week holiday every year for 10 years you have had what I get every 6 months, and I assure you living here is different than holidaying here. I may say I have 12 years of experience of living here, more accurately I have had 6 months experience 24 times! Come rent for a spell, as the old letch said to the nubile, suck it and see if you like it.
