Just read this via Thai Visa.... In Thailand too, the government has taken its first steps in regulating streaming services and has announced that all importers and producers of Internet TV boxes, including Android boxes, HDMI dongles and TV sticks required permission from the authorities. People who import, produce or sell the Internet TV boxes in Thailand without the permission of the NBTC face a maximum of two years in jail and/or a maximum fine of two million baht. With the loss of Expat TV and UK TV things they are a changing.

Well some of the old network types have been shut down and the frequencies reallocated.

As mentioned, certainly under Android, you can switch off mobile data which should also mean no data charges. Google are getting to be twats lately though controlling your phone on the sly to track you.

Assuredly, not a job I would be suitable for! I too ate at the PBG last night. The service was good, but beer wasn't cold enough. I ordered a Chicken Maryland, which isn't really what I got, it was more of a chicken schnitzel, flat and without bone. It also came with 2 fried banana fritters, which I originally thought were potato croquettes.... who the hell would come up with that strange mix? It took a while for the food to arrive too. Overall things pretty good.

Some great advice there Goldpanner and much appreciated. Although I would like to add (note the sentence I quoted), if you book via a consolidator, be very confident that you plans are firm. Skyscanner will return a lot of different 'agents' some I have never even heard of. A recent ticket of mine went from Skyscanner to Expedia (Thailand). Unfortunately I was forced to cancel the return leg... refunds are rarely available! Even if they are they will duck and weave and generally piss you around to avoid paying up. I felt that the airline had made the refund, but the agent didn't want to pass it on to me. I got it in the end ... but it was exhausting. Saving £25 may not be worth it.

Is there something going on with the server recently? For about 5-6 days I have been getting a lot of 'Service Unavailable' responses from Pattaya Talk and I was unable to connect for a spell 4 or so days ago.

I too have wasted many an hour in my stubbornness to get a particular ADD-ON. Once I somehow managed to download/copy the zip file to my laptop and install it from there, where a network installation had failed repeatedly. I also spent many hours on my friend's Android Box with Kodi trying to download some TV program to a stick drive.... after a full afternoon I figured the updated Android blocked writing to external drives and we had to employ a work around. It is getting beyond my technical abilities and patience but perhaps pushes back Alzheimers.

Usually not much of a consideration when they decide to do some work! (An example of this is on Soi Siam CC just inland from the railway tracks where things have been dug up and all the businesses are inaccessible, I had to put a stone under the rest of my bike, and climb over a ditch to go get a haircut). I don't think the current road surface is much of a business draw either. If the soi is privately owned, as opposed to being council/City Hall owned, who might that be?

I have found Kodi to occasionally be temperamental when trying to download and install add-ons. Sometimes it just won't work and I have got 'failed to install' messages, yet it then works on another machine or works when I use hotspot and phone network instead of home network. All a bit hard to fathom 'the reason why' despite following the steps. It does sound like something went wrong when Exodus tried to auto-update.

I can only say it seems fine under Windows 10 and latest Kodi 17.3 I just fired up my old lappy and under Kodi 15.1 Exodus updated and seemed fine. Perhaps reinstall the repository.

So it is a method of obtaining credit between business operators, or effectively using the business's profit margin as leverage. IE you can obtain your potatoes at cost but pay for them with your future sale of the chips! Any users care to comment on any downside or how BizPay make money on this?
