  1. I too have wasted many an hour in my stubbornness to get a particular ADD-ON. Once I somehow managed to download/copy the zip file to my laptop and install it from there, where a network installation had failed repeatedly. I also spent many hours on my friend's Android Box with Kodi trying to download some TV program to a stick drive.... after a full afternoon I figured the updated Android blocked writing to external drives and we had to employ a work around. It is getting beyond my technical abilities and patience but perhaps pushes back Alzheimers.
  2. Usually not much of a consideration when they decide to do some work! (An example of this is on Soi Siam CC just inland from the railway tracks where things have been dug up and all the businesses are inaccessible, I had to put a stone under the rest of my bike, and climb over a ditch to go get a haircut). I don't think the current road surface is much of a business draw either. If the soi is privately owned, as opposed to being council/City Hall owned, who might that be?
  3. I have found Kodi to occasionally be temperamental when trying to download and install add-ons. Sometimes it just won't work and I have got 'failed to install' messages, yet it then works on another machine or works when I use hotspot and phone network instead of home network. All a bit hard to fathom 'the reason why' despite following the steps. It does sound like something went wrong when Exodus tried to auto-update.
  4. They hoped to run a near normal schedule from Gatwick yesterday so hopefully today even better. Off their website. Flights on Sunday 28 May At Gatwick, we are running a near-full operation. At Heathrow, we are aiming to fly all our long haul services - but the knock-on effects of Saturday's disruption are causing delays and some short haul cancellations. Our terminals at Heathrow are still congested so we ask that you do not to come to the airport unless you have a confirmed booking for today and know that your flight is operating. Thought you normally went via Manchester......I would only use LHR if I was flying in and out of T5
  5. I can only say it seems fine under Windows 10 and latest Kodi 17.3 I just fired up my old lappy and under Kodi 15.1 Exodus updated and seemed fine. Perhaps reinstall the repository.
  6. A power supply issue is the excuse scrolling by on the banner on Sky News. Mind you, wouldn't be the first time BA told lies wrt flight delays!
  7. Heavy rain last night that put 2 inches on my pool level.

  8. Ah. they are luring you in......
  9. Had a good measure of rain at my place last night and wonder if we are back to a moonscape there today!
  10. So it is a method of obtaining credit between business operators, or effectively using the business's profit margin as leverage. IE you can obtain your potatoes at cost but pay for them with your future sale of the chips! Any users care to comment on any downside or how BizPay make money on this?
  11. Upgraded to 17.3 myself last night.
  12. The cycling will be down Soi 13/3, (Pattayaland 1) and will cause great amusement to those on barstools in the Sugar Shack.
  13. Would that not also be the case had you both paid in cash?
  14. Well it was just a scattering of stones into the holes as far as I can see and that isn't going to last!
  15. Looks OK on Google Maps, handy for Police Station and Central Festival Beach Rd Mall.
  16. I also drove through there again last night, looks like the resurfacing has started as there was a layer of tarmac down. Traffic at that point was heavy going and slow but I think that was due to a Nakhonchai bus maneuvering into the bus station. Although it helped me last night, I also realized there will still be ruddy great coaches making U-Turns just South of there as most want to get to places just South of Klang on the other side.
  17. Yes, there is a few matters of surfacing to be addressed. I tried to get onto Sukhumvit via the side road between Numchai and The Bangkok Bank and needed to give the engine a good bit of throttle, it could best be described as a ditch!
  18. I am sure a rented condo is just as flammable!
  19. It is some time ago but I bought a laptop and it came with a Genuine Windows licence, I also paid for Office, a legit copy. Some of the other 'free' crap on there was infected with viruses so get your computer scanned quick. Don't forget, if you cannot perform OS updates, you are vulnerable to new nasty stuff, like the Wannacry ransomware. Many many computers are sold here with pirated Windows.
  20. That will make a difference... can't take your eyes off the potholes normally so eyeing up service girls is very difficult. Even tried parking the bike (that ain't easy, everyone lays claim to the street parking) and walked recently, that is also difficult when the potholes are filled with water. Trouble is, when and if it becomes a smooth well surfaced road, it will also become a thoroughfare for large coaches full of Chinese heading to the shopping Malls or Beach, and may even become part of their tour route!
  21. Sorry but I am still partaking of the beer.
  22. George, I have removed your other exact same post elsewhere. Koh :Larn has become a daily destination for large groups of Chinese now, there are alternatives further afield you might prefer. Don't worry, the police do this sort of thing periodically. but it is very rare for tourists to be hassled. No way would I describe it as becoming tough for the tourists.
  23. Strikes me that immigration would be glad to collect a load of 2000 baht fines although not be keen to leave their comfy office! Many condo buildings have a small office which facilitates rentals and takes a commission on them, and I know for sure that rentals under 6 months term are included. Putting a search into Airbnb produces a plethora of Pattaya short term condo rentals.
  24. Rainy season weather, wake up to showers and rumbling skies.

  25. I was once in a curt mood and someone had left a burning cigarette in an ashtray under my nose, so I poured a bit of beer on it.
