  1. Well, there is also a chance of a malicious link being included in an email which appears to come from someone you know. One like that caught me a few years ago. Then I became the apparent sender of 'a malicious link being included in an email which appears to come from someone you know'.
  2. Heat we got!!!!
  3. If you thought yesterday was hot (34), today is forecast to be 36 DegC. Phewwww

It almost makes me yearn for more water throwing!

  4. I recall when checking into a soi 7/8 hotel listening to an Indian guy arguing with reception or cashier about the price being offered to him to extend his stay, complaining it was more than his current price. So he went off to use a computer and came back with a better price...Agoda.
  5. Generally that type of email is put into your spam folder. If you open an email within the spam folder active parts are disabled. (Yahoo Mail). So there is very low risk. Your virus protection should also be ready to jump in.
  6. Well sometimes you have to wait a little longer, and it is bloody hot this time of year. My standard fare is 1200 airport to Pattaya, and this guy is advertising 1000/1200 for 2/3 seats, so is cheaper too. Just reading elsewhere of taxi drivers refusing to use their meter and they have a reputation for being ill-mannered. Also I have had a couple reject a trip to Pattaya (and others dance with glee). Perhaps depends on the time of day you land but I gave up on the taxis after a long wait once. My current guy always drags me to the multi-storey car park but at least takes the baggage cart for me.
  7. Stickman has posted that Private Dancer has had a change of ownership and will have a change of name May 1st.
  8. Well it will be May 3rd here, but I am told it will be on the Thai TV Ch 7 at 10am, for free!
  9. My experience of 'white vans' is not 'only 5 aboard', more 'room for another' Had we not stopped for gas, (literally .. we all had to get out and stand in the heat), I think he might have made it in 20minutes such was the way he drove. Plus I had visions of bursting into flames for the duration of the trip. Considering the near 40 degree heat in Bangkok these days I would pay more for a car.
  10. Yeah, I kinda thought that too. Thaivisa gives Mods a bad name.
  11. Not T5 (I HATE LHR), but I was bringing 2 boxes of Golden Virginia back into the UK for years and years without issue.
  12. Christopher Walken
  13. I am guessing, but I hope Cigarettes aren't really what they are looking for there!
  14. Make the flag a little bigger to change the site's language. For Pattaya, do you include areas outside of central Pattaya, ie Soi Khao Noi, near the lake, Jomtiem, North Pattaya etc? Are you using your own drivers and vehicles or simply passing bookings on? What type and age of vehicles do you use for 2/3 seats?
  15. John Travolta
  16. Looks like Liam Gallagher is busking for his paternity settlement.
  17. Snatch
  18. Hmm, I say do listen to all sides of the argument. Sadly hard to filter out those with personal experience from those just joining in.
  19. Cabin fever now!

  20. I thought he meant a Ford Grenada. :
  21. Ben Foster
  22. I hear water chucking started last weekend around Soi 7-8 area.
  23. Well I never mentioned under what guise I own it but yes, I do have anxiety over it. But it is a method that has been around for a long time and I have a fall back plan (presuming we get some advance warnings!) The most secure thing of course is a condo which can be in your name. But a condo will not suit everyone, limited space, shared facilities, proximity to neighbours, who may not be agreeable. I even have reservations on the annual service charges levied on condo residents. In a poorly managed building they are often seen as pocket money and you end up living in a poorly maintained place that would be hard to sell. Despite the fact I have bought, I advocate renting first.
