Certainly must be part of it, it was really busy in town. And post Covid we have a population used to having food delivered... my neighbours live off it! I think fbwu has a point too....over the last 12 months I have been irritated when I do visit a restaurant, that my food seems to be taking ages, while they appear to focus more on getting the Grab orders out of the door.

Decathlon are another that want an email..... when I said I preferred not, they said it was linked to possible returns... ie no email no return! Lazada of course want phone number too and I am suspicious they are the 'source' of those dodgy (Thai language) SMS type messages with links in them offering loans and such.

I always presented it and thought I got a bit off the price of the current purchase, at least I am sure that was how it used to work... so now it became a habit. I still find a calendar next to the laptop handy.... to put a circle round some date..... I can't trust my memory these days and often the phone is somewhat distant. These discount cards are all pervading and to be honest I am fed up of being asked at Big-CX.... got one for Homepro too... my credit card has some points scheme but checking on the website it looks like I would have to use it to buy a Ferrari, to get enough points for some hanging furry dominoes.

There are blood pressure meds there too.

I have had one of those for many years.... gets a few coppers off the bill. And I must rush there to see if I can get a desk calendar this year!

Then dig it all up and start again!

Don't drive in the gutter in town, the baht buses will get you... out of town you need to keep to the left more I have found. As to pedestrian crossings, never trust them, on any road.

A deeper red would be more suitable as the blood stains will not show... beware of using these crossings!

This is the group of beer bars just before you get to Klang on second heading North.... they actually look more dusty and derelict than the picture suggests. Further South, just a little, on the other side, we see 3 Indian restaurants, side by side, and there are a few more outside the range of the photo.... more prolific than the massage places ever were. There are groups of Indians wandering about too.. as if searching for something rather than being tourists. I seriously believe they hunt for prospective business venues. The face of town will change a lot in the next few years... and wait until the Chinese get here, keen to live elsewhere. ( A house just sold near me to Chinese.. pre Covid they were sniffing all over the place.) And finally, soi Pothole, living up to its name even in the dry season.... more MPs are becoming bars here.. I said this will happen before, and I see other posts thinking along the same lines. Don't worry though, no shortages. MPs have moved onto Buakhao and Klang.... and a well known one had about 8 or 9 staff this afternoon.. where only a few weeks back, there were 2 or 3. Peak season guys....

A few pics of the dreaded Soi 15 between Buakhao and 2nd Rd... via the Avenue. Work appears to have been suspended. There is access but it is a bit tight, one direction at a time for cars and pickups, and it will not do your tyres any favours. This last pic is probably only known to the Expats. There used to be a (Tesco)Lotus supermarket behind Numchai on Sukhumvit... opposite a Fascino there....well not no more. Don't know if it has gone forever.... a nuisance, as I often stopped off there as it is on my way into town from home. Heard a rumour Lotus are not doing so well since they shed the Tesco link.
