  1. That's the one out near the Bira racetrack on Hwy 36. There is another (more sedate) one still being built on the Beach-side of Sukumvit between Na Jomtiem and Bang Saray.
  2. Atheist version.
  3. Who said that about no rain? I just got drenched!

  4. Daryl Hannah
  5. There are some guys at the top of the Empire State Building and one says to the other, 'If you jump over the rail here, you will not die.' 'How so?',says the other guy? 'The wind swirling at the top will blow you back in.' 'I don't believe you' 'I will show you' and he jumps over the rail, and is amazingly is blown back in through a window on the floor below. He walks back up the steps and say 'there I told you' 'That was lucky.......' 'No I will do it again'...and the guy jumps over and again is blown back through the window. He does this 4 more times and says, 'nothing you can do about it, the wind will always blow you back in!' So the second man says 'I'll have a go at that, jumps over the rail and plummets all the way to ground to his death' A third man walks up and says 'Superman, you can be a right twat after you have had a drink'......
  6. An afternoon shower to put down the dust.

  7. I agree, having a garden I am always looking for rain. The rumbling thunder seemed to pass me by today. This time last year my seep-aways were working in reverse and I was pumping them out over my wall until the owner of the land came complaining. (It is okay for him to light fires and spread shit which cause smoke and ash and fly swarms.) I had many squelchy areas and neighbours a little lower had bigger problems. Dry like rock today.
  8. Fight Club....Brad Pitt 'The thing is, Dil, you're not a girl.'

  10. 'The Outlaw Josey Wales'............................. 'If you touch me again, I'll kill you'
  11. Yes, and I was thinking of Blazing Saddles myself..
  12. 'The Shining ' comes to mind. How about... 'Head them off at the Pass'
  13. I took my Thai lady to the one in Manchester some years back. It looks very similar to what you saw and I was left a bit disappointed, I thought the content was somewhat minimal considering the long history of 'wars' the UK has, Not a single mention of the Siege of Khartoum and stuff like that, perhaps it would upset the local fuzzy-wuzzies! Thanks for posting.
  14. Key Largo
  15. Early morning rain from the North.

  16. My pal had it done and has been very happy and now does not require glasses, he had the multi focus lenses fitted. Plus I have heard at the Expats club guys praising the results, one guy said he had been amazed by the sudden clarity and brightness of the colours he could now see. Just to balance that, I do know someone who, as he was beginning to develop a cataract, had a lens replacement, and subsequently developed a detached retina. This required expensive treatments which ultimately failed. Me, I have some ageing issues requiring me to need distance and reading glasses and the aggravation of them, but I am a chicken-shit and decided cataracts would be my only reason to do this.
  17. Yes we are talking of different issues, I am talking of a recent fault which impacted many ISPs in the region, so boxes you installed prior are irrelevant. I am NOT repeat NOT trying to say that is the problem you have with True, I only asked if this RECENT note RECENT cable fault was having any impact on Android TV boxes. Also I was offering up a possible explanation if anybody was seeing a recent degradation, OR having internet problems. This morning, things seem better for me with True internet, so I do hope this is now improved and redundant. Good luck with your product..
  18. There is a time-frame on the link I posted if you could care to read it. Here is another which suggests the 16th September. The inability to stream Internet TV on a True line previously has nothing to do with this incident, as you say, and I trust to your knowledge and experience on this. You say True block this function. Whether True plan to have their own internet TV streaming in the future I do not know, at the moment, on my cable connection, the TV and Internet are independent, being modulated at different frequencies, within Thailand. The point I am presenting and struggling to get across to you, is that this cable fault may also impact your service. At the moment True Internet seems to be impacted the worst, but also TOT, and a few 3BB customers have commented on problems. ISPs will be throttling back their private customers to give the limited bandwidth to better paying corporate ones until the cable is repaired.. If your system uses a VPN, which is not on the other side of the damaged cable, the problem might not be so obvious.
  19. I give up! I was discussing the impact of THIS!
  20. Rain in the night and a sunny morning, very pleasant.

  21. I don't believe so, at least wrt to internet access going East from Thailand. I am talking of a recent issue with ALL internet access, basically with CAT who dominate international traffic. Yes I am on True, and perhaps the limited access which is shared out will impact each ISP differently, but may slow things down until it is repaired, next month. I am certainly getting a lot of problems, accessing Pattaya Talk and Thai Visa and other sites, for 4 days now.
