  1. I believe the OP may not be accurate. Earlier today Noyes published a picture of himself reading the 'Bangkok Post' in the Tara Court, Irish pub, on Pratamnak Hill Drummond I heard he is out on bail pending an appeal.......... Watch the airports.
  2. I would be surprised when a failed battery also means a stranded owner. Having to get off my bike and push it out of the way at a crowded junction like Suk/Klang just as the lights went green would likely make me never buy another and get rid of it! Bloody good chance of being run over from behind when the Bangkok lot are here. There seems to be a contradiction, renters claiming stranded customers, owners saying never had a problem.
  3. Hannibal, Anthony Hopkins of course. I'll bet you twenty bucks I can get you gambling before the end of the day!
  4. Key Largo
  5. Russia, China and India probably have a ways to go before their populations have all experienced a bad time in Pattaya. There are some regular floods and landslides in the latter two anyhow.
  6. There is a meeting area nearby but it really means exit door 3, numbers are over the doors. The guys are opposite behind the barriers and generally take you to the escalators to go to the car-park.
  7. Orson Welles
  8. A train ride sounds pleasant enough although previously Siberia was well down my list of places to visit, like Pakistan and Darwin.
  9. I just saw on TV that Russia has put it's interest rates up to 9.5%. A worrying figure as it suggests high inflation. At 0.5% for the rest of us!
  10. Yes. I just moved my comments into Gabor's popular thread.
  11. Actually no, dropped it after second year to pursue a more scientific orientation. Saying that I don't do too badly, my subsequent travels refreshed my knowledge. All Geography taught me back in 1966 was Oz was full of sheep! I do know Austria and Australia are different places now.
  12. I use Mr Toom and this is a bit worrying. An obvious security measure is to check if the driver has my phone number, which I always supply when booking.
  13. Well we should revert back to the last valid answer which is Richard Long. I need to wait for the 24hr time mark.
  14. Well, likely the router isn't passworded either then or uses the default, so she could log into that and find out who the ISP is and call them herself.
  15. SMLalzheimer's.....try Siberia.
  16. Fri 2pm. Wow, one helluva thundersorm.

Seen some of the vids on youtube Jacko, proper tropical storm that was.

  17. The Russians still seem to be able to come here. Last night as I strolled 2nd Rd I thought, they are back.... is it snowing in Siberia already?
  18. It is awkward. We are often told not to in some environments, but my Mrs is pretty quick to tell me I have been 'waied' and need to return it with her friends and relatives.
  19. On a whim I gave this place a try last night... braised steak, chips and cold peas. Not very many customers but steady, I think it is just 'ticking over' Service is reasonable although one would have to stretch one's imagination to believe the attempt at gender. Peas were served cold and rather too much of the liquid had been slopped in. In the past I disliked having the dogs wandering around, yesterday they were not apparent, perhaps they were avoiding the unpleasant odour in the AC area. It remains super cheap, you can get filled up for under 300 baht. One of the few places that doesn't charge over the odds for a drink.... my soda water I think was 25 baht, most pub-grubs will hit you for 50 baht. I don't think I will be back but I bet the place survives.
  20. No need, it gets covered with flies. I have an idea it won't go to waste.
  21. Perhaps the rental guys are tired of people 'reporting' that the engine keeps cutting out at the lights! My pal in the USA phoned the rescue services when his rental wouldn't start...... only to be told you have to put it in Park, AND depress the brake to start it... he went into a rant about that being unnecessary to cover his embarrassment. We have a couple of bike renters on the board who could have an input.
  22. Vincent Price
  23. Gladiator..... Have you noticed the nastiest of tyrants are invariably thin?
  24. I am using 'True' now, at 30/3 Mb. The one concern is that it doesn't work for the Android TV boxes that Lanzalad posts of. It is about 840 baht / month including basic TV package.
  25. Because they are expensive and the idle stop feature fucks them up?
