I once saw a guy get attacked for knocking a motorcycle helmet off a seat as he tried to squeeze through after exiting Nevada A-Go-Go. Intriguing how this guy was so well tolerated.

Perhaps in NY or London he would have been arrested and removed. I once saw one very similar in the departure lounge at the Bangkok airport. I often wonder if they let him board.

How about you go West on Chaiyapoon, pop into the Triangle Bar on the right for a beer, then go East on the road on the other side of the Triangle Bar, (known as Soi Xcyte although the Xcyte disco has long gone). That Rd comes out right opposite Bliss on 3rd Rd. Be careful not to get knocked down in your haste crossing 3rd Rd. Junction with a view.

There are still many many beer bars. Although those in the Walking St area have surprising prices for a beer and a ladydrink...similar to GoGos. Beer bar areas have sprung up in new places to replace the old areas that vanished, not so many on Beach Rd now, Some are centres for very low prices (New Plaza). Soi 7 still has a lot too. Bar Fine prices.... beer bars can be 300-700 baht, an LT 1500-2500, again beer bar. GG Bar prices, Check this out. It is going to be busy in January..... try using Agoda or Tripadvisor to get an idea of availability. Maybe Nova Park?

Personally I wouldn't want to be right in the thick of it like that. (Grand Hotel). There are advantages of course, a quick stroll with a lady for a ST. If you arrive after 7pm it can be difficult to get dropped off there. It is easy to get about in Pattaya, a quick cheap ride on a motorcycle-taxi or baht bus is never far away.
