  1. There was a bit of a report on the BBC's 'Click' program last night on how many London stores offer free Wi-Fi networks that people log onto... and once you do they know who you are, and tie that to the tracking information that your phone gave out as it pinged it's way around the City...ie unique MAc number. The details are in the 'Terms and Conditions' that one would 'Tick Accept', but of course never read. I am unsure how far this can be taken, but such information has no current time limit on storage and could be accessed by authorities too. They tell you, of course, it is only used for t
  2. It doesn't explicitly say but I guess it is a one bedroom unit with 2xACs. Looks very new......
  3. I think this is what I used to call 'The Yellow Shirt' restaurant years ago. All the serving staff seemed to be kids with little or zero English and often got confused, but I had some great meals there despite the chaos.

Sounds like an Ebay scenario a friend went through some years back. I see Paypal have gone to great lengths to prevent that happening now, with deferred payment. Sorry to hear of this Gary, sort of thing that really gets under your skin!
  5. I recall 'Lox' and Bagels, with cream cheese once for breakfast in the USA. Very different for me but I liked it.
  6. Would that cause any aggravation for those passengers flying from MSP to Seattle due to a no-show? What you are demonstrating is the way flights are priced based on demand rather than distance. At least you are going to cancel the last leg, a passenger with just hand baggage could just walk straight out and get his taxi.
  7. I always thought of there being 2 types of salad..... a side salad to replace the spuds for those weight conscious, or a starter, replacing soup or pate as an appetiser. There is some difference between each side of the Atlantic though, British salads are often pathetic and dull, US ones are just something to ease the guilt-complex of the fat women. Croutons and blue cheese dressing is not helpful in reducing calorie intake!
  8. Many areas have heavy rain but Pattaya stays mostly dry.

  9. Well it doesn't seem to have penetrated the market yet. Conflicting sampling results. I bought a couple from a distributor very early in its day.. tasted awful. Then a later sample at the Expats club tasted okay. For me it is about the impact on my head too!
  10. Speckled Hen at Robin's nest. A large array of ciders at the Triangle Bar As an aside, I was wondering recently whatever happened to Pattaya Lager. I remember buying a couple of cans a few years ago, and it was even hawked at the Expats Club..... seems to have died a death.
  11. Okay, a mouth full of San Miguel and a katoey playing a strangle version of 'guess who' must have distracted me. I want to pick the venues next time!
  12. But the feminine kaa is a long vowel so it is easy to discern. Lady boys use it too...... I hear! No, I mean I have been told, it might have been atlas2.
  13. Well the reason for the onomatopoeia was a 'here it is again' thought from me. A sense of deja-vu. But at least....'Pig in the City' had quite a few people in it. I looked this guy up when he recently died... Mickey Rooney.
  14. Aaaarghhhhh Magda Subanski
  15. I have a HSBC account in the UK and use their internet banking.... but after a bad experience some years back have never used them to transfer cash over to Thailand. Back then they transferred some money for me (not Thailand) and used a secondary clearing bank and I got hit by 2 charges. The second charge was another £30 on top or £25 I had already paid, it was not mentioned and I felt I had been cheated... or perhaps they were being 'economical' with the details. Recently, when on their web page I noticed they were touting cheap international transfers....... and as I needed a top-up, I w
  16. I understand it to mean wait at the red light...... that scares me as I approach 10 years here.
