  1. Do you park your car out of the sun? The only other thing I could think of would be sun damage, this can cause cracking in the rubber and if this is deep, be of concern.
  2. Thanks..... my habit of old, getting 4-6 cheap quick ones in (bottles) just doesn't seem to be well supported. Beers 'from' 120 and 150 baht LDs is hardly a bargain outside of WS! I know the old Paradise Happy Hour brought in a few like myself.......cheap!
  3. 20,000 KM shouldn't require tyre changes unless you have been doing skidding 180's, have a tracking problem, or some physical damage from a hard hit. My replacement at 90k was due to a tracking problem that did in 2 tyres before I got it sorted.
  4. Where is this rain, it is hot again!

  5. 20 visits in 3 years is once every 8 weeks. I hadn't met him until recently when I was introduced by a mutual friend. He is a good guy.
  6. I just put 2 new ones on the truck... but to be honest I didn't have the patience to shop around looking for the best price. I too thought of posting here but decided on 'nearest'. There is a Quik Fit place in front of the Big-C South (near Tai), and of course many shops on Sukhumvit.
  7. Yes I thought it had. I don't pay much attention on my bike to anything other than what is ahead.... plus I mostly turn right then left around BigC to avoid the roundabout.
  8. Pah, I was in Mistys and it had only a few customers, was that because they do allow smoking! So I think the latter.... the whole town is going through a quiet spell. Most guys wouldn't realise beforehand about their smoking policy....... They used to have an attractive Happy Hour which included bottled beers, is that still the case? I had a regular 'friend' in there and as long as I have her on my lap I think I can still enjoy myself, more-so without smokers. Still mulling over where to go in a day or two, LK Metro or Soi 7/8..... some poor reports coming in wrt Soi LK! Thanks for the update.

  10. There are a lot on Threpassit,, 2 on North Rd and of course loads on Sukhumvit. Has the one at the bottom of 2nd Rd opposite the Bowling Place (before the bend to the Dolphin roundabout) gone?
  11. Jodie Foster
  12. Yes, as a non-Ozzie I thought it might be a bit of work, but I did manage to get her the UK Visa by doing it all myself. I have gone off the idea of a trip for us both to Oz, but if I change my mind, I wonder if using my pal over there in Perth would make it easier, and a better option than the cost of using an agency here.
  13. Not the way I remember it, I was often asked for a deposit, and it seemed like you spent the next 10 minutes handing over other security deposits, one for the safety box key, one for the mini-bar, etc, maybe if I go long way back, 1980s, things were a little more relaxed and trusting. The trick was remembering the deposit when you checked out, the receptionist wasn't going to remind you.
  14. Well I don't have to use it and certainly won't. I live outside town and have a Shell place near the house so fill up there on the way into town. I also never need change, if in the truck I am going to put 1000 in it and the bike regularly needs about 110-130. I make a point of having the change for that. This Gas station reminds me of one of those damned poorly run GGBs that can't help themselves, and for me more indicative of 'Pattaya' than the odd act of honesty! I suppose people could use those roadside bottles to top off the tank, heaven knows what you would be getting.
  15. Yes, £1000 / day should cover it, and no need to avoid Walking St.
  16. haha, Considering the facilities and the location, I would have expected a 1000 baht deposit on check-in, and a portion of that being refunded after a room check a few hours later.
  17. The Great Escape
  18. Perhaps because you keep referring to it as a hotel, and for many, the absence of a pool, room service, restaurant etc mean it doesn't really qualify. Also paying in full, up front is a concern.

  20. I left it for ya.......... I recall you know it well! Wyatt Earp

Yes, but I understand the rhetoric of the English press much better!

Getting our 'Stars' sent off is a common approach. Seemingly they are always on a quite short fuse. Ronaldo did it too. That also makes me feel the English sides are not a team, but always presented as one 'star' and 10 others.
