Was he brought up by wolves or something?
  5. Isn't that what we have now??????

  7. Doesn't matter as you seem to be a few steps behind, we are on.. The Fugitive.
  8. Well get well soon and that is a surprise, when I was visiting my mother nothing seemed to be free, from overpriced parking well away, to the TV/Radio available to patients!
  9. Well you might think so if you also consider the new stricter driving test. Although I am with Bigmick on this one. One good idea would be to cancel the licence completely and tell Somchai to retake his driving test.
  10. Sounds very amusing to lock your helmet away then leave the key in it! And kudos to you for leaving the steering lock off and considering the guy you were blocking in! I keep a special lock for someone who doesn't!. I once struggled to find my bike after leaving Lolitas in bright sunshine!

  13. Just been using it OK. Email alerts too.
  14. My first thought was SF, but I was pretty sure you would have been in ahead of me already! It seemed an obvious answer, although when I was working there I just called it expensive.
  15. I think it is likely more tiring for the horses.

I can think of a few incidences where our 'star' was also known to be lacking in self control, and was easily taunted and got himself sent off. Football, when you were at primary school must have been dangerous, I recall heavy solid toed boots, steel studs and a case ball that was responsible for many a concussion.
  17. From this source it says.. 40 angle-flat seats with 170 degrees recline
  18. And of course you can do a transfer straight into it and remove the need to travel with a lot of cash.
  19. I guess they make more money that way, but it would put me on the defensive as I always feel there is a scam behind things like that. Countries have their fiat currencies for a reason and to restrict their use seems unpatriotic! These things should be getting easier, a quick scan of your smart-phone, a beep, and it is done with via pay-pal or bit-coin, or whatever. . I still get stuck behind people at check-outs, messing with their 'cards, getting cash back and struggling with their PIN code, it used to be old ladies looking for coins or their purse.
  20. And since many Thais don't eat beef that might be important. I don't recall how the Thai food is there, but my TGF went for the ribs which seemed agreeable to her. To me they just tasted of BBQ sauce.

I would rather have the drama than the absolute certainty that my country has!
  25. Yes of course, sorted now. I used the RG a lot and my concern there was that the safe did not seem to be fixed securely, seemingly screwed into the wood of the wardrobe. I have also stayed at other places where the safe was rattling loose. There have been instances of a thief just extracting a safe to open at leisure. A tourist has little choice, he wants to put his/her valuables, cash, passport etc away safely and go lay on the beach...it certainly is not an option to take the stuff with you. Like you, I have been fortunate..... except for the lock-box issue. I recall the old Lek hotel had safes with a magnetic key, and claimed there were no spares, although then you are subject to your companion finding it, or the drugging possibility. I am beginning to wonder if double key security boxes behind reception are the best solution. The worst is the single large safe where you may put your belongings in a sealed envelope, conveniently packaged for the night staff to do a runner with a few dozen of them at once!
